One of the most magical places in Kruger - especially if you are fortunate to be the only vehicle at the time. Many cups of coffee was enjoyed on that bench during an early morning game drive. No real spectacular game sightings ever recorded there, but the calm vista to the north is one of the pictures engraved in my mind. This is my special little place in Kruger.

What a awesome scene, I've been to KNP numerous occasions but never went to Bobejaanskrans. Will it be senior citizen friendly, I normally take my mom along and would like to know if she will be able to walk to the view point from the car park area.

No problem Hippo. It's not a big area and there is also a bench.

yup... have to be wide awake at these places. i once had 2 lionesses proudly strut out of the bush into the cleared area, just as i was climbing out the car. luckily i was looking right at them as they emerged.... had i been looking elsewhere.... i may have ended up as some blobs of lion pooh scattered about the kruger veld.
not too bad a way to go tho i reckon, as long as the kill is quick.... i fear i mite be an aweful screamer if they were to dally in their dispatching.
:)

Yup, this is just the thing David, goes to show how vigilant we all have to be at any of these get out spots.
BTW I found your story very amusing.

Not from the obvious viewpoint, but to the right of that.

A few pics of the "krans". This has got to be one of my favourite places in the park. :D ... Notice the fire in the distance.

Standing there about 22 years ago on an overcast morning I was treated to a magnificent roaring from the Phelwane bridge area , and nervous as I was retreated to the car and drove in the direction and found a magnificent male lion roaring while walking along the road , but he went towards the Timbavati riverbed after a short while .
All this time I was the only viewer .
