Reporting posts

Have you noticed a post that contains abusive language, spam, advertising and other things which are not allowed on the forums?
Since the new version of the forum you now are just a mouseclick away from reporting it to the moderators.

At the bottom of all posts there is a little exclamationmark:

If you click that icon you'll get this screen:

I have pulled down the menu to show the options.
Just choose the reason for reporting it, and check the option if you want to be notified. In this screenshot it is hidden under the topmenu, a simple yes or no, no being the default.
If it is pure spam or advertising you do not need to fill in the "further information", however if it's another grievance the moderator(s) may want some explanation why you reported that post.
Hit submit and you're done.

And then what?

For moderators topics are marked with a big exclamation icon like the following screenshot from this morning:

As you can see it's rather hard to miss. In this case it's spam of the most common kind, and quite obvious. It could however also be a post in a tripreport or other totally legal topic.
The moderator can then see a report, like this one:

In this case there was no extra information, hardly needed, but that would be shown above the Close and Delete report buttons.
Below that you can see what was posted, and as you can see we can also see the IP address the poster posted from. (And yes, we can see yours too!)

Obviously in this case the actions were straightforward, move the post off the forum, and the poster is banned by IP address and will never be able to login again.
With abusive language, off topics or any reason the post or topic had been reported, it would probably have been put into the moderators forum, and proper action taken.

Please make use of this feature, with forums as large as this one this does make the moderators life a lot easier! Thanks in advance.
