Stayed in that one in April. Reeds in the river bed very thick but had buff next to the fence most evenings, duiker inside the fence and bushbabies in the trees in the corner of the fence ! Also it is a lovely walk along the fence to the bird hide (watch for snakes -- esp at night).

Hi all.
I would just like to find out more info on the roads around biyamiti. Are there any nice areas close to camp where you can pull over and have a great view or peaceful setting and relax while enjoying some sundowners in the afternoon?

Hi Junior
We have seen the Big 5 in one day on that 18km stretch of private road. Its a great area for game viewing

We are looking at staying in a NCO2+2V, 2 adults and small (toddler) children. Is there enough space? Has anyone done it before? From the pictures on the web it appears to have a verandah and an open plan kitchen?

Any feedback will be great

Thanks

We stayed in one of those a few years ago. Our kids were early teens then. Its a bit crowded, but not too bad. We were comfotable enough therre and spent most of our "in-camp " time on the verandah. If thats whats available I would take it again, although the bigger cottages are more spacious with small kids you should be fine

The NCO2+2V is basically a bedroom, bathroom and a lounge (with sleep-on couches in the lounge). The kitchen is on the verandah, along with a four-seater table.

We stayed in one with our son, CB, who was just 5 at the time, and it worked fine. Like Pjw, we spent most of our time on the verandah. Works perfectly in summer.

CB loved Biyamiti - the birds, the small mammals, being able to see ellies and bushbuck from the fence, the little hide... great place for a kid who is happy in nature. And SO and I adore it!

And it's also a good area for wildlife. The 18km to Biyamiti Weir delivered us on 1 day Rhino's, Ellies, Buff's and late in the afternoon a leopard and 6 lion on the road.
A lovely bushcamp

Biyamiti is just very popular -- they run at a 97% occupancy rate (according to the Camp manager) :D

Just returned from Biyamithi where we had our best night drive to date. besides the big 5 (including a massive leopard male) we saw my favourite rare animal: the side striped jackal.
