This beautiful bird, seen and pic taken by Jock, (with permission) was seen on the S30 on the 21st Feb.

sorry for asking this but why are the two specimens colers different?

Older and younger bird or maybe the one took a dust bath?

Batmad, most species' sexes differ in coloration with regards to brightness etc.

A breeding male for instance would also look completely different from a normal male.

Juveniles also seem more duller than the adult bird.

Orange neck and head is definative Coqui francolin .
But you hear rather than see them so a photo is appreciated.
