I know it has been discussed previously but cannot find the topic at this moment in time.

How does one go about requesting a specific unit?
Who do you contact?
Do you contact by email or phone?
How long before the time should you make contact?

I do understand that it is not guaranteed that you will get the specific unit but it is worth the try.

In addition:
Biyamiti: Which unit numbers are classified as Cottage (NCO2+2V)
Satara: Except for the ones in G-circle are there other units classified BD2V (perimeter view), we like G166 but just want to know so that we can request either G166 or another unit in G if there is units outside G classified as perimeter view
Olifants: Which units are classified Best River View Bungalow (BBD2V)

You fax reception of the specific camp about 2weeks before arrival, and request a couple of units so that they have something to work with.

For satara as far as i know only the units in G circle are perimeter.

Olifants best unit imo no9.

Biyamiti I think the no's are 8,5,4,3

Hi Pete and welcome to the forum

We stayed at Talamati during our stay in May this year. It was our first stay in this particular Camp. We stayed at Satara and Tamboti but so far missed out this wonderful camp

We had hut #11, Waterbuck. Which we thought was very private.
We did not hear a single sound or movement from one of the other huts.And we stayed there on a weekend and the whole camp was fully booked.
Unfortunately I can not make out on the map which huts are CO4 huts, I think we had booked a GC6 hut.

We loved Talamati. A very quiet camp with friendly staff.Do not miss to visit the hide, we saw loads of Ellis there and it was lovely to see the interaction between several herds.The surrounding area is great and we had been blessed with Lion and Leopard sighting.

Now to Biyamiti.
Another one of the great Bushveld Camps.
Very special with it's own private stretch of road an the wonderful drive to Biyamiti Weir.

We stayed in Hut #3.
Very private an close to the fence.
There was even a lovely bench were you could sit, have a look at the river bed and sip your Sundowner.

Again I am not sure what category this accommodation is

Sorry that I am not able to solve your problem of not seeing the pics of fellow forumites.
Maybe ask one of the mods for help.
Seeing the pics to all the reports doubles the fun to browse the forum,so you should keep trying.

Your info helped a great deal.Have contacted Sonika at Biyamiti and she has been very helpful. As far as Talamati I think the CO4 cottages are either 2,4,or 7 .Probably much the same ,unless you or other members have some advice.
Have sorted out the pic problem ,firewall problem.
10 weeks and I will be there.Will try my hand at a trip report.

Sirheni 9 & 10 are nice, on the bend of the river and the hide is between 12 & 13
At Bateleur I like either #2 (Tshagra) or #3 (Wielewaal) but they are all great

all bungalows in croc bridge do have the same equipment - No. 1 - 18 are located close to the fence and No. 2 - 8 have some nice river views if the vegetation will not be too high, however, all of them are lovely.

Punda Maria - I see tent 2 & 3 seem to get the most "votes" - any other suggestions?

Jen, I have stayed in #2 and #3…of these two #2 is the best….has a very nice view.
If we stay there again, I will however go for #4….it’s deck offers a lot more privacy and is the only one that is right next to the fence

I agree with Jumbo.
Last June we asked for and got tent no 4.
It was definitely the most private - people basically can't see you at all once you are up on your deck, and also relatively quiet because it is the furtherest away from the campground.
The view from the deck is also quite wonderful - you can still see across the whole valley.
And our reward for being right on the fence was being able to watch civet, banded mongoose, duiker, impala and buffalo from our deck!
We have agreed that we will never stay in another tent at PM!

Hi To Everyone

Even though I dont Post very often, I am constantly on the forum browsing through topics and enjoying all the info provided by the forumites. Thanks to SANPARKS, the mods and the members for making me feel that the KNP isn't toooooooo far away.

Will be in the Kruger from 18 July - 01 August...
And have booked the following accomodation over the 15 nights:

Skukuza (BG2)
Croc Bridge (BD3)
Croc Bridge (CTT2)
Pretoriuskop (EB2)
Olifants (BG2)
Satara (BG2)
Tamboti (CTT4)
Balule (EH3)

Could anyone help with best locations and Numbers of the above.

have a look at page 1 of this thread and you will see links to the various camps and most have the code and numbers listed there where you can get a general idea of location.

I stayed in 167 at Satara in July. It was amazing. About one meter from the fence! Also 161 and 162 vey close to fence.
