I have seen them on the S137 near Duke Waterhole, in the early morning, it was hunting on the road. In my opinion the best roads to see them is the S32 & S28. Perfect habitats for these creatures, also many people have had seen them omore than once on these roads.

I saw Serval last October after sundowners. We were driving on the H1-2. The sighting must have been about 12kms away from Skukuza.
It was just lying in an open area, seemingly unconcerned about our presence.

In January this year experienced my second sighting of a serval on the H1-3 between the Nkaya turnoff and the S125 turnoff. Managed to get a photo as proof of sighting but it is not of a high quality. This was only my second sighting of a serval and I have been a visitor to the KNP since 1955. This is one specie that is definitely on my list to get a quality photo of.

I also saw a serval in Dec but unfortunatly it was very dead. I just couldn't help wondering what happened to it. What a beautiful animal, even when not alive.

Fantastic Nannie, when did you see it and what time of day.

There is a stuffed one in CB reception. I asked if there were any in the area and was told no!

They will have to reassess now!

The Croc Bridge area is cooking!

I just read the tread about the servals and saw that Wild about Cats were doing a project on them. Does anybody (or Wild about cats) know what the project was about, aims and any results?

here is a pic of a serval taken on the Vutomi road. I had to take it through my cars windscreen as he was about to disappear into the undergrowth.

S36 loop across the H1. And to think we took the loop purely as a fuel-saving exercise! :D

Hey all, we saw this fellow exactly a week ago on the S90. The pic is much inferior to the others posted on this thread, but hey, I reckon any serval-pic is worth publishing... :D

Agreed cptp, for most people photography is firstly for documentary proof of a memorable sighting, and then if good enough quality, for impressing others like me.

I had this individual all to myself on 23 April 2007 (07:00) on the gravel road to N'wamatsatsa waterhole (on the H7 near Orpen Gate).

All I have seen down that little road to an unspectacular 'waterhole' is a couple of lions.
