Xhosa refers to a specific tribal leader, called uXhosa, from whom the Xhosa clan descend. They refer to themselves as the amaXhosa and their language as isiXhosa, a Bantu language. Xhosa society was historically viewed as an 'open' society, because of its readiness to learn from, trade and interact with other societies. This included the incorporation or absorption of entire Khoi and Griqua cultural groups into Xhosa communities, often through marriage, and the wholesale adoption of Khoisan loanwords into Xhosa vocabulary.

But back to Olifants, the view from the perimeter view bungalows is not that bad either.

Rapid servers you can use to publish your photo's on so we can see them on the forum are Tinypic.com and Imageshack.us Unfortunately Flickr is one of the slow ones.

When I saw this topic for the first time, I thought Sanparks have launched a new board game. Pictured something like a huge colourful map of South Africa, all players start at Table Mountain NP in the South, head east along the South Coast visiting Agulhas, Bontebok, Wilderness NP, Knysna National Lake Area, Tsitsikama NP and than Addo.

After that they have to head north and west again via Mountain Zebra, Camdeboo, Karoo NP and then WCNP. Now they turn north along the West Coast and have to travel all the way up to Augrabies after visiting Namaqua and the Richtersveld. Then to Kgalagadi, and then through the inland via Vaalbos and Golden Gate.

Thereafter they head north to Marakele, then Mapungubwe and then for the grand finale -Kruger. All the way as they pass through the parks they have to answer specific questions about the specific park / animals or birds specific to that area / places of special interest, etc. to advance to the next Park (earning bonus points or something like that if they’ve visited that specific park in real life), etc. etc. etc.

Phew, got myself really exited here, if the board game doesn’t come off, maybe I should take 3 months long leave and do the trip through all 21 Parks for real, maybe get in the Guiness Book of World Records or something – first person to do all 21 SANPARKS consecutively in under xxx number of days (sponsorships welcome!)

Exciting trip you've laid out for us there. Shall I join you as the official photographer? One needs an official document to show it to the Guiness Book of World Records.
And we need a laptop with wireless internet so we can keep the forum informed of our fantastic sightings.

Xenus cinereus (Terek Sandpiper) is one of the birds I'd like to photograph during that trip. It's a summer migrant, so that would come in quite nicely. Now let's talk to the sponsors and Asterix.
