hi everybody

i am a new member but have read a lot on the forum.

can anybody recommend a specific chalet/unit number at talamati? i will be there for 2 nights with my mom from germany in the first week of december. we are going for one week, the other camps are lower sabi (tents # 16 or 21) and olifants (unit 9).

i know december is going to be hot but i am soooo looking forward to the kruger again. i only every stayed in a bush camp in biyamiti years ago which was magic, the staff there is really good. we had a night drive with no great sightings but the way the ranger explained everything was so worth while = one of our best night drives ever.

Are there any bungalows in Skukuza that have river views or are on the perimeter besides the Luxury River View Bungalows and the Guesthouses?

Can anyone explain the BD2E bungalow? What exactly is a "closed veranda"? Are all of this type located in a certain area?

Any help with choosing where to stay in Skukuza would be greatly appreciated.

Only Lux bungalows and guest houses have river view.

Closed verandahs have mosquito netting enclosures .

Stayed in one and hated it. Felt like a convict

The camp maps are posted on page 1. They'll give you an idea of the layout. Will come back to you re best bungalows. Have to run.

I see what you mean. I have often wondered about that myself. I think from the codes you have, you don't have perimeter bungalows, except from Croc bridge. But I'm not sure. I found this info, but perhaps some one else can help you further.

This page gives you all the accommodation details, including which have a view. NG2U is a perimeter hut and will have some view.

I think NG2U has a perimeter view but not a river view.
It really would be helpful if the camp maps had the code on as well as the unit number

Pucelou, you have a better chance of getting replies for those two camps if you ask here.

I have a reservation at Tamboti, who do I contact to request specific tents? The camp or reservations? Thanks!

Thanks for info Freda. Haven't been for so long! It used to be my second home.... now I am feeling like a stranger!!

I am visiting Tamboti and Shingwedzi in August and was wondering if anyone could recommend a tent / hut number for each camp respectively, where it is quiet, secluded, shady and preferably with a good view of something

At Tamboti I am in a communal tent - 2 sleeper (CTT2) and Shingwedzi in a communal hut - 3 sleeper (EH3)

Any advise would be GREATLY appreciated

I can only help you with Tambotie. This camp is very bushy, and I recon [ as some others] nr. 2 and especially nr. 22 is the best option, although I cant remember whether it is a 4 or 2 sleeper...

Here is a pic of nr. 22, and both I know have good perimeter view from the deck

Hi Schnooks, We love Shingwedzi and always try to stay in one of the old bungalows by the eastern gate. We usually get 27. They back onto the fence and we been entertained greatly by vervet monkeys doing high wire tricks! The bungalows are older but more than adequate and have a good sized kitchen inside. The bedroom has aircon, too!
Unfortunately I don't have a photo of the EH3 huts.
