Hi guys. Sorry about my silence: cellphone problems! We had a great weekend in Kruger and I will post a full report later. Have to sort out the pics.

We overnight in the hide at Sabledam and the atmosphere is great. Much different from any camp. Did see a pack of hyenas passing by and the odd ellie who came to drink. Not much more, but very enjoyable. We took an additional carbattery for spotlights and it worked great.

I can't understand how it is possible to runover a turtle while travelling within speedlimits.

We were a group of friends who wanted to sleep over at the hide. My SO and I took the S131 and saw this nesting vulture and chick.

I have mentioned the poor turtle and the great sunset from the hide itself.

One feels much closer to nature than in a camp. No other noices than your own group's. We didn't hear any lion or heyena, but still it was an enjoyable evening.

We left for Shingwedsi the next morning. We saw quite a lot of
kudu and giraffe. The veld is dry and the mopani leafs are falling now. Even saw a giraffe browsing on a mopanitree.

We decided to take the S50. Lots of ellies and few buffs. Then, the highlite of this visit: It took me 18 years to see this again:
We saw this beaty at the Tihongonyeni windmill. With the Roan, there were ellies, kudu, Zebbies and Tsetsebe at the windmill!!
We arrived at Shingwedsi just in time to hear the Boks doing it for a change. The impalalillies in Shingwedsi are breathtaking beautifull and so large! Some of tham are approx 8 feet high.

The big cats did not disappoint on Sundaymorning. We counted 13 of them, and we didn't see the males.

A great weekend and are planning the next one already.

I saw this yellow-billed hornbill eating away on a runover (I think) squirrel in the road.
