Planning our 3rd trip to KNP next year-prob August/September-can anyone advise the best route -from a scenic /interest point of view, from either Mount Zebra or Karoo NP?-it may be we are being to greedy in trying to visit all three!

From Mountain Zebra Park to Karoo National Park, you really only have one route and that is via the R61 through Graaff Reinet, Aberdeen and then hit the N1 at Beafort West and the Karoo National Park is about 1 km South of Beaufort West on the N1.

From KNP you can hit the R360 through Loxton, Carnarvon Kenhardt, through to Upington and then North up to Twee Rivieren - this is approx. 920 kms.

Alternatively, you can take the N1 North up to Three Sisters, then turn left on the N12 through Victoria West up to Britstown, where you link onto the N10 through Prieska via Groblershoop to Upington, or

From KNP, drive south on the N1, then take the R353 turnoff to Fraserburg, from there through Williston and link up with the R27 at Brandvlei, from where it is all the way north to Kenhardt, and then Upington and then Twee Rivieren.

All 3 these routes are in the region of 900 - 1100 kms but I know the last route has some serious "stop 'n go" roadworks currently.

Enjoy.
