Katmal's trip to HOME - 1 - 3 September L/Sabie

Unread postby katmal » Tue Aug 29, 2006 10:18 am

Hi all forumites

Itching to go! Only a few days left and of to my second home it will be! Can't wait especially since this time of year have always been very good to me in terms of quality sightings (hold thumbs it will be the same this year) and quantity sightings around the waterholes and rivers as well. Look out for my sms report - Mark will be doing it. Anyone been to the L/Sabie area recently that can tell me about the fires north on the Tshokwane road? Apparently 4 ellies and 7 white rhino had to be shot because of it (according to Dirk). Hopefully it won't be that bad, although only looking forward to getting some well earned rest!

Katmal

Great start to the trip, saw big pride of Lion, about 60 Ellies, Buffalo & general game on Sabie River! Quick Leopard sighting but not the whole party saw it! Others entered through Malelane & already have completed Big5 with White Rhino! Further Updates later!

He's so lucky 4 of the Big5 in one afternoon

This is what Kruger is all about- a quiet drive along the Sabie late afternoon with an awesome sunset. Elephant, Buf, Bushbuck, Baboons entertaining us and sunset dam cooking with all sorts!

Glad he is enjoying himself.

Morning all forumites

Phew what a long day it was yesterday! Only arrived back home round about 7pm! But am still a bit flabbergasted at the drive up from Croc Bridge yesterday! Kruger really opened its heart yesterday to me and the game viewing is what I expected for this time of year and even BETTER! Will try and write a report as soon as possible, still recovering at work now! Thanks for all the good wishes and postreplys! Looks like DB is also having some good luck

Regards
Katmal
