Hello, can someone please tell me if the camp sites without power, at Satara, are separate from those with power and, if so, where are they? (Hopefully close to the fence  )

Some along the fence, (facing the fence to the left) are stands without power.

Is there a limit to how many tents you can put up on a site at Satara?

There are 6 of us going during the June holidays and I have booked 2 Campsite with Electricity (we plan to use 4 tents) but friends of ours could not get any place in Satara and wants to take over one of our campsite bookings.

Hi Joebie

Most of the times we join my mom and step dad and they put up their caravan where they and my 2 kids sleep and we erect a tent next to the caravan where SO and I sleep and weve never had any problems :)

Well heres my word to the wise for anyone camping in satara, we went camping their with my mom in 2010 well as I said to joebie we always have the caravan and our one tent anyhow that year the kids were already by my mom and SO and I were joing them later on our day of arrival my mom blew up the mattress and my girls thought YAY granny has erected a jumping castle for us needless to say the ground is so hard their and the kids jumping on it the mattress connected with a sharp stone and we didnt know it, when SO and I went to bed that night it felt like we were lying on a wave ugh I couldn sleep so off I went and climbed into the back of the car to sleep how SO slept like that on the ground I will never know well after that episode I only load my double bed mattress in the caravan and if I have to take that blow up thing then I put 3 blankets and a duvet under the mattress to stop it from getting punctures :D

Hi Joubie,

If you have a look Here you will see that a maximum of 6 people are allowed per camp site.
Base rate 2.
I am not sure how strict they are as I am not a camper.
Hope this helps.

Satara campsite is my favourite and even if you are not at the fence it is still very special. There is plenty of space and most of the stands are level. One seldom experiences a sense of overcrowding.

Camped at Satara this past week end, It was quite a busy weekend, and not once did I feel over crowded like I have at some other camps. The camp grounds are large and spacious, I particularly like how the site has been demarcated.

I also found the Ablutions to be well cleaned and the Kitchen area as well.

Will be in Satara on Sunday. :D I know there are still a lot of vacant sites. Let's hope a fence site will be open. Can't wait to be there. Still it's a long drive from Durb's. Will overnight in LS first though.

Sunday is Generally moving day so your chances of getting a perimeter site is higher, but be sure to get there early, lots of people change sites if they arrived late on Saturday....

Enjoy your Trip

A poorly maintaned ablution forced me to email Satara management to lodge a complaint. A few hours later I was phoned by management with an apology and a promise to rectify immediately. That's service. Thanks Satara Management.
