Thanks Hilda I'm doing just that, unfortunately the building and blasting is going to carry on for quite a long time , just wish they had set times to do it so I knew and could take Gal out when they do it

Hugh glad about the kitties  also glad the family doesn't have to travel in the hold with them :D :D

Hi all! Hope all your pets are well. :)

Here in the madhouse, we have conceded defeat. :?

We did have some success initially with the four doggies locked out in the backyard together with no dramas. (Gave up on the inside thing after the last trauma!) But the other day I came home and they heard me coming up our long drive, got over excited and when I stopped the car the excitement had turned to aggression (as Cesar Milan says happens very easily with a pack) and they were three of them getting stuck into poor little Lucy! That was it really. I couldn't bear to think of what might happen if someone came and I wasn't home and that happened. :(

So now we have accepted that Lucy will just spend time in the yard or the house with only gentle Scooter boy and she goes to bed in her own run/kennel at night. It is not too hard to manage really. (Scooter was very contrite and spent lots of time licking Lucy and 'saying sorry' after the fight  )

I also decided that when we go away we will board Lucy at the nice boarding kennel so that we don't have to worry about putting the extra hassle and worry on my son's shoulders and I can enjoy a stress free holiday!

Other than that, our cats, fish, ducks and chooks and horses are all happy and healthy! :D Sorry, I always end up writing a novel every visit.

Our Ridgeback bitch is in heat, what a hassle. It's only our Ridgeback male that can still do the deed but the other males are still "willing" even if the tools don't work anymore, causing trouble. Poor Freddie is now sleeping inside at night he's a 13 year old Lab cross but the old man still remembers the good old days, but can't muscle up to Rigby anymore. A few small bite wounds is all but we worry because of his age.

This is the last time after this we need to have Perdy fixed.

So come May we will have puppies again.

Hi threedogs sorry you are still battling with the dogs, When humans come into the picture they always play up, like children who will be as good as gold until mommy gets there then they turn into little devils

Maybe it's a good idea to put the one in the boarding kennels when you go away, will give you peace of mind.

NetEk good luck with the puppies when they arrive.

This individual at our house of the species otherwise known as a Tokoloshe  needs a hamster wheel and/or a sedative..........no wait, she can have the hamster wheel and I'll take the sedative :x

This photograph taken in a rare captured moment of non-movement some time back as she has not technically stopped moving since then...

The mutt is off her head ATM and there is a fair chance I will become deranged (more) and end up with a case of tinnitus (yes that's ringing of the ears not a foot fungus  )

In other news, I sussed a new product at the vets the other day: Thundershirt for dogs. It is a firm wrap like dog coat garment which is apparently very helpful for anxiety in dogs ie separation anxiety, thunder storms, fireworks etc. Thought some of you mites might find it promising. :)

Wow Threedogs! That Thundershirt sounds very interesting to me! And the leash as well! Two of my three "kids" are scared of thunder, and one would not move with a leash around his body! His feet seems to fall off as soon as you put his leash on!

Thank you for this interesting information!

Beautiful, beautiful gal, Carol. Treedogs, you certainly have your hands full. Handsome little critter though.

I thought that I would share one of my new arrivals with you.

This is Mikki.

I was travelling home in the dark on the coldest night of the year. In the middle of nowhere, on a farm road, a little dog appeared from the bush and started barking at my car. I stopped to pick him up thinking that he was a little terrier belonging to one of the farmers. "He must be lost", I thought.

To my surprise, it was not a full grown little terrier but a puppy in terrible condition. He was full of ticks, fleas and attitude.

I took him home, fed him and gave him a warm bed for the night. I also left a message with the guards at the gate to contact me if a puppy had been lost.

There is no doubt in my mind that he would have frozen to death had I not seen him that night. The vet said that he was only about 6 weeks old.

Mikki has turned into a delightful bundle of energy and joy. His breed remain a mystery, as does his early history.

Mikki Is so sweet he riminds of the dog in Dr Dolittle :) .... Isnt it amazing MM how the animals that one finds abandoned, lost or grew up as a wild animal on the streets when found and picked up and taken care of make some of the best animals you'll ever have :)
