Lions in the Mountain Zebra Park

Unread postby jad » Sat Feb 23, 2013 11:05 am

Are there going to be lions in the Mountain Zebra Park and if so where will they be relocated from? I hope the picnic sites will stay open as they are so nice to sit outside of the car and enjoy nature, apart from the monkeys trying to steal your food.

I don't see why they'd close the picnic spots no picnic spot is closed in the kruger nor is their fences around them and theirs and overabundance of lions their

A very warm welcome to you, Andrew :D

Its the first time I have heard about the Lions, or proposed Lions. :hmz: Maybe some news items that I have missed.

Why don't you do Cheetah tracking while you are there? One of my most memorable experiences.

Thanks for the welcome and idea, :D
I was lucky enough to see a cheetah with kill - last year while going on a night drive.
While reading up on the corridor project I came across a website which stated that lions were to be introduced sometime in the next couple months.
However I am wary to believe everything I see on the internet.

Hi guys

Can we maybe find out if this is true? That blog is from the latest Wild Magazine which I usually consider a reliable source.

Also, the blog mentions Megan Taplin as the Park Manager. I might have missed it before, but was this a promotion for Megan, in which case Congratulations are in order :congrats:

There will be some exciting news coming out of Mountain Zebra National Park shortly - possibly within the next two months. :D Be sure to keep a look out on the forums.
