Hi. I saw this giraffe also close to Onder Sabie. I don't know if it is the same one but it looks like an Albino Giraffe.

Albinism happens about every 20,000 births and they normally do not live long as they have lost their camouflage protection.

Hi vaughng! Check out the thread on this mammals forum about the white impala ram. He's in the Shingwedzi area - saw him there on the other side of the river - from the Kanniedood Dam Hide, on the 20th of June.

Hope that helps! Have a great trip!

Hi Vaughng

I have a picture of a buffalo with a light hair coat that was taken near Afsaal by my one friend Deon who visited the park in April 2011 and then a picture of a white Nyala near Pafuri that was send to me from a colleague who works in the park. I am finding it difficult to put the pictures up so PM your email address and I will send it to you so you can maybe put it up for all to see.

I have just been back from a two week holiday in Kenya and whilst staying at my sisters tea farm in Western Kenya I saw an Albino Vervet Monkey. He was an Alpha male and massive by any vervet standards.
Seems this is the first albino vervet ever recorded/spotted in Kenya.

Does anyone know of something similar in SA/Sanparks?????
