Thanks for the comments and views:dance:

The Woodland Kingfishers were a little bit far, but still a good sighting and a keeper for now.

Jan, I am really enjoying and admiring your photos.

The allusive Malachite kept flying past, but were fortunate to get this one from 'the corner spot'.

When we were there in Dec, the birdlife was abnormally quite on all the times we visited the 'lake'.
However, we were rewarded with the pack of 16 wild dogs and the resident leopard just outside at the T-junction with the tar road.

Thank you Trrp-trrrrrrrr and Jan.

Here is a thick-billed weaver - it was a first for me. Shows Lake Panic always got a surprise for you.

Jan, I am enjoying your photo on page 84 of Feb issue of Weg magazine - the one with the hippos and croc at N'wanetsibirdhide. :cam: :cam: Well done

I cannot agree with you more, Jan.

This blue waxbill was busy building a nest, but it was extremly difficult to get a nice clear shot. I guess, it adds to the variety one can expect at 'the Lake'.

It is much appreciated, but is busy planning a TR and will start one hopefully soon of our trip in Dec'12 from the south to the north and back.

'Scratch & win' photo of the white-breasted cormorant was taken by my wife.

Appreciate the comments and thank you to all.

Excellent angle, Jan.

They just do not sit still! On numerous occassions I directed the camera at them and just as I got the focus going, they fly away. This happened quite a few times which make you wonder if they are not doing it deliberately :hmz: and teasing you

I guess this dragonfly could be related...or could it be the same one...
Image

Then there was the other family - 'the blue dragonfly'-family

Great image Kaapsedraai   and I think we spotted the same one!!!

We always saw the Crocs behind the trees, but this one decided to swim to the other side and then only you realize how big they are.(may be 4 meters?)
