Our local mail is inexpensive, but I've heard it's a bit much going your way. I'm going to the post office today to pick up books and will find out what it will cost to mail to the UK, what town/city are you in?

From the middle of last year we could not find any hard copies of the 2012 edition in english, so this year I bought a few extra to help out friends and mites far away.

Just wanted to say that Rooies is right that we tried to keep the special edition pitched on the affordability side of things -but next time we'll definitely add in Roodewal and Boulders to the maps. Also, it's been two years since the last Kruger edition so all the camp information may seem repetitive but we couldn't leave it out. But there is a lot of new material in the front section (all the interviews with people like Nadav, Elize, the Everatts, Brenden Pienaar and the bush dog story etc.) Oh, and the maps are much improved, after taking advice from readers, with distances etc. and with the drives added in. Lots of hard work went into this and we hope people like it. Andrea

Aha! I was wondering if we had a Weg!-ie in our midst.... Congratulations on a great issue Andrea! As you can see - we all enjoy your "baby"!

Thanks so much for your kind words, Bushbuddies. So glad you like it. :D
I love Kruger as much as all the other mites so find myself spending more and more time on the forum. Going to be walking the Olifants Wilderness Trail (on proper holiday) at end of March and can't wait!

Redwing, job well done!

I'm reading the afrikaans version on my I-pad and Skillie bought english hard copy. Now we can read it at the same time.....

I love the stories of the people living in Krugs, I'm soooo jealous!

Great maps and I like the aerial view op the camps.

In the latest edition of the Weg! / Go! magazine, I read that they are bringing out a Weg! Kgalagadi in June... Will definitely be getting one of those too!

A friend of mine went to SA a few weeks ago and brought me back a copy of this magazine.

Really like it.
Read through it several times already.

I am not sure whether a topic on this magazine exists but I could not find one. If it does will the mods please merge.

On Sunday night while looking for bed time story for the boys I came across my Weg! Kruger Park edition 2013 magazine that was published last year, hidden between their books. I was not all surprised as there are little they enjoy more than going through any type of book where wildlife is involved.

If you read my trip report you will know that in my 29 years of visiting the park last September was my first visit to a bushveld camp and I enjoyed it so much that I booked a couple of nights at Talamati in March which is just around the corner.

If you are the same as I am you will know with little over a month to go the excitement is reaching boiling point and I am reading every piece of info I can find on Talamati. So I rushed the bedtime story  and went straight to the bookshelf to get my hands on the magazine which roughly translated state "every thing you need to know about Kruger" and "info on all the camps"

I started to go through the index and there is nothing on any of the bushveld camps

I could not even find any mention of them, almost everything else I can think about is in the magazine but nothing regarding these camps which I believe is a very unique and special feature of KNP. I double checked last night and still can't find anything.

Does anyone perhaps know why the bushveld camps was omitted?? Or am I just being blind and missing them?

:hmz: Maybe I should offer to write a bit about Tal for them, Piet.

It is near Fairfax waterhole that can be productive.
It is sable & honey badger country.
It is not really overrun with game.
Lions & cheetah are the more common big cats, while you are more likely to see serval on a night ride from Tal than almost every other camp.
There is a very productive waterhole in front of camp, with a hide to view.
If the ever smiling Patson is still there ask him what time what comes to the waterhole.

Hi Piet

We have an existing topic and I will merge yours to it
When you read through the existing topic, you will notice that we have a 'mite from the magazine commenting there. Maybe this 'mite will see your post and reply to your query.

Thanks for the advice BB,

Sable and HB will be a real treat and I am not to concerned about the game viewing. With SO being pregnant she and the boys will not join me due to the malaria risk so no need for frequent sights to keep everyone exited. It is just going to be a relaxing weekend where I am going to take in the magic of Kruger. Cheetah and Serval will be a big bonus. I can see myself spending hours at the waterhole.

Thanks Matthys I will go through the thread and see what I can pickup.
