Pafuri Camp got 17 mm in total over the weekend. That's a start, but they will need at least that much consistenly every single week through April if they want to get anywhere close to the mean annual.

I am back in gauteng after the trip to Kruger and I am sorry to say that Shingwedzi is still extremely dry! Almost no grass next to the river. I can't believe the difference from last year. You won't recognise the place if you were there last December. I spoke to the ranger on the 19th of december and he said at that stage they only received about 20 mm of rain since October...

I just had to bump this up a bit. Knowing what we now today about Shingwedzi - how ironic is it that this question was asked barely 1 month ago! :tongue: Who would've thought that Shingwedzi would be closed 1 month later because of TOO MUCH water... :whistle:
