Hi to all the mites out there

Well myself and my wife has decided that we want to renew our wedding vows and as KNP is one of our favorite places we would like it to be done there we have not really discussed the finer details yet but we would like to get as much info concerning this.

1. How do we go about getting the venue once we have decided where in KNP we would like to do this do we have to contact the camp manager or who.
2. Is there anybody in the park that can officiate the ceremony for us or who do we contact to get info about this.
3. Has any other mite renewed their vows in the park and will it be possble for myself to contact them for info.

Any help will be appreciated in this regards

Thanks again to all

Hi Ndlulamithi and a warm welcome to the forum!

What a wonderful idea! :D

I am sure it will be the same as getting married in the park as far as venues etc go so do have a look Here for ideas and advice.

Please do let us know how it goes and perhaps even some pics of the occasion.

Hi everybody, wonder if somebody can help me!
We planning to get married this year and want to spend our honeymoon in Kruger for 3 weeks, travelling the whole length from north to south.
we thought it would be very nice to get married in the park.
Unfortunately the wedding-packages are all quite expensive and it wont really work for us, as its just me and my fiancee without any guests attending.
I know that there is a chapel in Skukuza, so clearly there is a pastor which could marry us?!
Just need to get 2 witnesses there ;-))
So does anybody know of a pastor in Kruger or one who can meet us inside.
What are our options??
All ideas very appreciated.

Hi there
I recently got engaged :k and we are looking at getting married in the Kruger Park next year, specifically in or around Skukuza.
I have been searching high and low online for who the correct person to contact is in this regards but have had no luck.
The email addresses in the previous threads regarding weddings in the Kruger on this forum seem to all be outdated.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! :D

The other person who could help you is Stephen Nel the manager at Berg-en-Dal. He has helped several folk with weddings in the area and at the camp.

Clairey

Congratulations!! All the best for the future...

I got married in Skukuza in 2002.
Unfortunately i cannot remember the contact person.
What we did was we arranged with them that we could use the "boma" next to the restaurant for the church service.
It was a early morning wedding.
Afterwards all the quests went for breakfast in the restaurant.
We arranged with them to reserve some of the tables in order for me to set up the tables with a couple of nice things - all nicely decorated according to the out of Africa feeling....it was a beautiful wedding - we took very nice pictures just outside the restaurant with the river and bush in the background!
It worked out very well because for the rest of the day all the guests were enjoying Kruger....

They also arranged that the people working in the restaurant sang a couple of African songs after we got married - really very nice.
We had to use a radio when I entered the boma with traditional wedding song - and the preacher had to speak out loud.
What a memorable experience.

hope you find someone to assist you with this

Hi there
My wife and I got married last year at Berg-en-dal.
The wedding was right in the bush, was superb.
It was arranged by Stephen Nel the camp hospitality manager and he and his staff went out of their way to make the occasion so special.

Hi Diarmid
What a coincidence you posted this! I gave Stephen Nel a call this morning before I saw this post. We will be staying at Crocodile Bridge at the end of August and I have arranged to visit Berg-en-Dal to discuss the wedding with him.

If you PM me, I can send you some of the photos to show u what it was like.
You have the option of being in the conference centre and boma or out in the sticks.
We chose the bush option as it would be a different experience for all our friends.
The night after the wedding Stephen arranged for a lovely sunset drive for all our guests, saw 4 of the big 5, was lovely!

Hi, my friend is planning on getting married in KNP, specifically Berg-en-Dal camp. Everybody will organize their own accommodation for the wedding (most will be camping) but I need information on if we can use the game drive bush braai activity for such a purpose and who to speak to as I have a lot of contact numbers but haven't had much success yet. :gflower:

Thanx for all the lovely info we can always get from this forum.

Always best to contact the camp direct.
They have arranged a lot of weddings there and I am sure will do something special for you.
Maybe the best is to email the camp manager stephen.nel@sanparks.org and explain to him what you would like.
I think he really enjoys sorting out things like this!
Maybe you will get me as a guide!!!
