I have discussed this topic with everyone on numerous occasions.

I think either one of the following locations would suit me:

1. Shirimantanga Koppies where Stevenson Hamilton is

2. Around the big baobab that is situated next to the sand road as you approach the Timbavati picnic spot

3. At Transport dam where the Battle of Kruger took place (we saw our own little Battle of Kruger there with a leopard and some waterbuck  )

My testament stipulates Gudzani East, but I still have the ashes of two family members in my closet...maybe I will end up there as well! Anyway it's not important because I will NEVER know where my final resting place will be...I'm talking about my ashes. I know where my spirit will be and that is a million times better than Gudzani East!

I'm still to young to decide now. May be after 50 years if Kruger is still the same then my resting place would be Olifants lookout point, Orpen dam n also next to Paul Kruger statue :)

The top of the hill at Metsi Metsi Wilderness trail camp next to the mast, preferably watered down with amber nectar out of a green bottle

Hello Forum,

I know this has been covered to some extent before but I would like to get information together regarding the scattering of ashes in Kruger for someone who really adored this special place.

Firstly, do you have any suggestions of places that are safe to alight from cars from and that you think are good spots for such an event?

I have a few ideas of places that he was particularly fond of, but wondered if you had any pointers or advice on this.

Thanks so much in advance.

Hi Scatterling and welcome to the forum,

I don't think there is any specific pointers other than as long as its done at a recognised get out point and no unofficial plaques etc are erected.
Some folks do purchase a Memorial bench to honour their loved ones memories.

My brother stopped and scattered our father's ashes along a road near Skukuza.

He didn't ask anyone, just did it.

So if a ghost with a serious comb-over and a Lancashire accent asks you what you are doing, it has been done before.
