Sorry to Munchkin but that print was never safe, you must agree. But nice try, turning it face down on your lap hoping people would think it was a tray

Well, I'll definitely be introducing the stealing game to family and friends - should liven up our traditional get togethers. Christmas will never be the same again!

One thing I've learnt is that you need a strategy in this game to outsmart the thieves but of course it all depends on what number you draw at the start. That's where your luck begins.

Thanks again Cape Town forumites. Caracal is right - you certainly rock!

 Spot on Tony, SO thought the same (that print was hot property) , but his / our game plan was that if we lost the pic, we would then focus on the book..........and then  Rookie blindsided us.......... ! Next year.......... :hmz: I have acquired a knive sharpening tool.........."the knives are out - be warned you fellow thieves"

Morning all you CT forumites. Compliments of the season............ its my first time posting in this section and would like to propose a get together.

Like a lot of you, we just cannot get enough of KTP and visit at least twice a year. Back in Cape Town we think about it all the time so I want to put this out there for you consideration and comment:

I think it would be a great idea if we can arrange a get together of like minded people who love KTP. As an avid photographer, I thought we put together some of our images to show at this evening. Not only the good ones, but images that will spark conversation and stories. I have Matthew (AstroMat) who is keen to give us a little talk on his Leopard identification Research/program ............. and if we can find other people that can give us a talks on KTP topics, all the better.

Rather than just gathering for a 'meet and greet', lets put together an evening of photography, stories and talks .............. what do you guys think and suggest ?

Sounds like a good idea to me Shane.....
Just thinking about this very quickly ...but one of my first thoughts is that we might all be showing the same kind of photos because we have all been to KTP ( well most of us) How about we include all parks especially those closer to Cape Town...ie Richtersveld, Namaqualand, WCNP etc.
And another thought..how about some photographic outings....I have had this thought before but have never got around to doing anything about it.....:) It would be great for those of us that have a little bit of "know how" to share with those that are just starting off in photography.
As I said ..just quick thoughts. :)

Morning Caracal, I like you idea ....... we include all the Arid Parks (even Bontebok NP etc). I little diversity in the presentations will go along way to make for an entertaining evening.

I spoke to Jannie (Kalahari Guru) and he would be open to talk generally on KTP and what he does ...... I think this would be a fanatastic talk and would generate alot of interest. He would only have time for a break after the KTP Cricket matches so when we arrange the evening it would be around a time when he would be able to get down to CT.

Maybe a little premature, but do have any ideas for a venue ? (some place central in CT) ...... we will need the space for a good couple people.

Photographic outings ............... GREAT, would love it .............. what are your ideas ?

CT Forumites evening on KTP and other Arid Parks

Unread postby shane » Fri Feb 01, 2013 9:10 am

Morning all Cape Town forumites

I have posted in the 'Meet and Greets' section of the forum under the topic 'Calling ALL Cape Town Forumites AGAIN !!!!', but have not received much responce so I posted a topic in this section. I did check with a moderator (DinkyBird) who confirmed that I can try a topic here to get a little more attention and then it will be moved to the 'Meet and Greet' section.

I need your comments and ideas for a get together of like minded people who love KTP (and the other Arid Parks). As an avid photographer, I thought we put together some of our images to show at this evening. Not only the good ones, but images that will spark conversation and stories.

I have Matthew (AstroMat) who is keen to give us a little talk on his Leopard identification Research/program ............. and if we can find other people that can give us a talk on KTP topics, all the better.

The finer details etc can be ironed out later, but for now I would love to hear some of your ideas for an evening of images and talks specific to KTP and the other Arid Parks.
