Hi GP

We always fly our YR and often had to stop next to the road and reverse. We even forgot to take off our ribbon and stopped at a garage in Pretoria, where someone walked over to us to say hi. He was also a forum member (sorry cant remember his name) So I tend to leave my ribbon a bit on after our visit. On our last visit we putted it on at the airport and took it off at the airport 3 weeks later when we returned our rental    We just LOVE our YR

roaneric is getting the idea with So I tend to leave my ribbon a bit on after our visit, but why for such a short period? :hmz:

Keep your YR on and you will be surprised how many mites will stop and chat wherever you are (mall, garage, driving, even office (the inconspicuous colleagues who sit near you and you didn't even know they were mites!))

Give it a try. You don't have to be  !

It won't damage your car and often strangers walk up to you to find out about it, and are fascinated by the stories you tell

Great way to meet interested and interesting people :hello:

I must admit flying the YR actually made cars coming past more interesting as I kept on checking to see if they had a YR. Met three other mites in KNP although one didn't have a YR but she saw mine and approached me.

The only yellow ribbon we saw in the Kruger between 18 and 23 December 2013 was ours, we covered a large part of the south

Hi tentdweller :yaya: I was 'in' the park 22Dec till 5Jan and drove around with 2YR and a YR mirror sock. I only met 2 mites, 1 drove past me and I had take make a U-turn and chase them down-yes that is what I do  but I believe because of this Kruger fundraiser topic more people actually stopped and said 'Hi, Heksie!' I still don't know who they are :hmz: bit I believe it is the time. On my 25Nov-5Dec trip I saw about 12mites

Guys put on the YRs!!!!! It will give you a big surprise one day :w: GlenD pm'd me the day I was returning from the park-he passed me on the N4 when both of us where on our way home :D and I am still waving my YR proud in Pretoors!
Just have to add that my YR sock wa stolen during my Kruger trip! :( By bloody baboons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi boertjie,

A normal yellow ribbon will be just fine...........

In fact any yellow item tied to the wing mirror will work.........we've used those yellow dust cloths in the past....

You know what was fun-ok, and a bit scary about my second 2 week trip to KNP in December?
Because of this fundraiser trip and that remarkable pic WendyA posted about my accident outside Shing.

I had people calling: 'Hello Heksie' when we had a lion sighting on the H3 and they didn't have a YR. Still don't know who they are and when I went to get my entry permit I got a 'hello Heksie' too. Was actually scary to see how many people check the topics out which aren't forumites. Now I dare you guys who greeted me in the Park to join the forum and be part of this family

Hear hear!!!..........  ............come join in the fun!!!!

I am also surprised by how many folk tell me they 'know' me from my thread - but are not forum members.

Hi everyone.

I will be visiting Kruger soon on the 21st of June, and I thought of doing something different. In stead of the traditional Yellow Ribbon which People use, I feel like sticking my forum name on my right hand mirror which will be typed in Yellow ofcorz or I could print the background of the name in Yellow and right the name in White. Do you all think that is a good idea or should I just stick with the traditional yellow ribbon.
