A 'few' from southern KTP early March 12. At least I know the Martial Eagle which we saw a lot (incl Juveniles), but these brown ones

3) different bird seems like Tawny Eagle but happy to be corrected.

6) Another Tawny Eagle or is it  Was sitting on the grass next to the road near sunset together with the below.

7) Lost again but as mentioned above together with #6

A lot I know but hope someone in the know has a bit of time on their hands. Many thanks for any help.

Michael

Good Evening Great Dane.

Here's my 2 cents worth towards your Raptors:

3. Tawny Eagle. I think this is straight forward.

6. In the brown Eagle complex one can generally I.D the tawny's by a streaked neck, head and breast. I must say I've only seen this so pronounced once and that was the KNP. Nice one. The only difference to 7 is probably that 7 is a sub adult bird. I wanted to make it a Juv Verraux Eagle but that is dreaming a bit...... :wall:

Hope that helps somewhat....

We were in KNP on the 8th of September 2012 and was driving along the H3 from Malelane at about 10:00 when we saw this raptor. I most probably ID it incorrect as a Wahlberg's Eagle and would like a positive ID from our experts if possible.

here's one from my recent trip to KNP - tawny eagle?

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/99/bild1w.png/

filmed on Oct 14 near Satara

btw: I tried to embed the picture but whatever I do, I always get an error message "it was impossible to determine the dimensions" (and yes, I initially did resize the picture)

Nice video, and great trip report. I'll definitely carry on following it.

Hi everybody

First I must say that I´m an absolute ignorant on birds, but on my first trip to the Kruger, this August, I took some pictures of a few birds and posted them on my ongoing TR, I tried to ID the birds and now I have some doubts regarding this two:

This one I think it´s a Brown Snake Eagle

Image

And to me this seems to be a Tawny Eagle

Image

I thought I had it right but then Heksie said that maybe they are both Wahlberg Eagles.

Can someone please ID them?
