Right Yat and ADW  Very good viewing between the S100 and S90 - and it seems those lions only go for buffalo

Seen on the S41 during Oct 2012 near the Gudzane / S100 intersection. A majestic male Lion. There was another male nearby. Both males had the brand mark '5' on their left side.

Hi all. Just returned from a great trip to Kruger. We had a sighting of 8 lions on a kill on the small road to Gudzani dam. not the best visuals untill one of the lionesses decided to go down to the dam for a drink, using the road.

I promised someone at the sighting who is also on the forum a picture.... Hennie someone. Askies Hennie kan nie onthou nie. I think it was HennieD

Love this road. The bridge where you cross the N'wanetsi just after turning right off the S100 is one of my fave views in the park. If I get chance I'll always pull up here for a bit and pray no-one else comes along.

On my very first time on this road, we had just turned off the S100 having left a MASSIVE roadblock for a couple of very distant spots in a tree (not a hope if seeing the whole leopard!) and had stopped to look at some baby crocs on the right. As we looked up river two leopards came to the water's edge to drink.

It was so beautiful and I always look hopefully, praying they'll pop out again!

Those powerful impressions do live with one for eternity, Gemma. I often do actually "see" the great sighting again and again over the years at a certain place each time you pass there, and the image is sometimes so powerful that I can still remember the event as if it is unfolding all over again. Often, the same major trees and bushes remain, so the whole experience can be quite surreal. The only time it may be supplanted is when I see another great sighting at the same place, although then I usually have two videos playing themselves out simultaneously as I gaze at the scene. :D

We had some good sightings along the S42 this past December.

And it gets quite scenic as you approach N'wanetsi.

Last year we drove the S100 in August and didn't venture north on the S41 - heading towards the S90 along the S41 would take one away from rivers and I would imagine this is not as productive a route in the dry winter? Might do it this August though as in Satara for 3 days!
