Hi Mel

Orpen is a lovely camp. We have stayed a couple of times. It is even better since they changed the gate. Looking forward to the rest of the TR.

Orpen has always been one of my very favourite camps, and more so now that the cam is there. But I think you would have to sleep on that bench if you want to see things during the night. :D Definitely not so comfortable as the beds inside.

LS they are the same old huts from way back when, but have been upgraded to en-suite and obviously renovated recently as well. When we first stayed there you had to go to the ablution block at the back and there was no kitchen either except the communal one. :D But it was also fun. You get to talk to folk and exchange sightings from the day as you do your cooking or wash dishes.

Be very    Mel, I've booked Letaba and Shing for next month.

Next time you are here we must have a meet in the park. Now that would be fun. :D :D :D

Great spot at Orpen! View looks fantastic
I'm a bit paranoid so won't even last sitting 20min outside by my lonesome, maybe a leppie will creep up etc

Your essential supplies sound very familiar to me, all I have to add is some biltong
I can imagine your excitement when you saw the waterhole for real. Only a few weeks now and I will stay in unit 10, which also gives you a good view to it

Hi FC :D :D
Oh yes, I forgot to mention the biltong.
One cannot have beer and chippies without biltong
Your trip to Kruger must be coming up very soon now

with sightings at it than we were. (Although we stayed in Tamboti back then
and therefore were never able to watch the waterhole at night).

That unit you moved into looks rather new?

Only one more day in KNP... Amazing how quickly time passes when one is
enjoying herself... :slap:

Hi Lionspoon :D :D
We were incredibly lucky with sightings at Orpen
In fact our last full day in Kruger was one of the best we had in the park all trip!

In BnD we stayed also in a bungalow where a huge marula tree was surrounded by the verandah it was heaven

Mel, Timon & I will be back in February 2013 and we are already counting the days

Hi Pumbaa :D :D
There was a lot to enjoy about Orpen camp
Of course the best thing about it for me was having my favourite waterhole right there!!
