Thanks BB .I was reading up about rietvlei and they say peeps are travelling from gauteng to come and have a peak .. can you just imagine all those Beeeg cameras and lenses being there tomorrow ( seeing its weekend. ) So you were lucky to be there before the crowds. Its a lovely looking birdie too Super photo too

Until it realises that none of the other birds chip with an American accent. :roll:

I think skimmers migrate, so maybe it will be here for the summer, especially if there is enough nosh.

But I don't really know DB. Let's see if it can handle the weekend's watersport.

It appears so Sal, Trevor has good pics of both sightings and he is inclining towards it being the same bird.

But of course, if anybody spots it today again at Rievlei.........

Trevor is quite certain it is the same bird. Flying that distance is peanuts for it, I have heard of way smaller birds pulling off larger feats.
And it would be very odd for two birds suddenly to pop up?
