I have finally found some time to go through my archive of photos and thought it would be great to share them with fellow wildlife lovers
My family and friends always complain about me taking all these photos and not doing anything with them
I am attempting some sort of a trip report, but it is going to be a little different to the other great trip reports I have read.
I am going to go back in the past and post some of my photos that have left great memories in mine and my family's lives

I will be posting a few pictures daily with a short description and the location

Please be patient with me as it is my first trip report and I expect to encounter many problems


The first 2 pictures were taken on the 9 August 2009
We we staying at Skukuza and decided to do the Maroela Loop early in the morning
My dad was driving and as we came round to the H12, he turned onto the S30(Salitjie Road).
Not even 10seconds he says this is not the road
He takes a U-Turn and we passengers in the car just look at each other and no comment
We get to the green bridge and see 1 other car parked
As we get closer, we see this beauty sitting on the rock.Couldnt believe our luck!!!
1 of our best sightings ever!she stands up after a while walks under the bridge, sees an impala and dashes off.We lost sight of her, drove 20 meters further and this guy tells us the leopard jumped into the river and killed a male impala.We were just at the wrong angle
We got some awesome video footage of the leopard dragging the impala out of the water
This poor guy who was so excited was now angry all of a sudden
His poor wife had the all the footage covered on video but she had it on pause
Hope his wife survived that day

These next few photos were taken on the 10 August 2012 on the H7 between Orpen and Satara
We were on our way out from Satara to Orpen heading home.
As we came to Phelwana Bridge, we see this buffalo sitting next to the road and 1 other car parked off.
Luckily we asked this guy parked off what he sees.He said the buffalo is injured and there are lions lying down about 20 meters behind the buffalo.
We all got excited and parked in a good spot in case something happened.We waited an hour and nothing much happened.After about an hour and 15mins we saw a lion in the background and finally there was excitment in the car.Well nothing happened then.
After 2 hours of waiting we said lets wait a little while longer
We waited another half and hour and here came this lioness walking towards the buffalo.
Our hearts were pumping like you cant believe!
Here she came and walked round the buffalo and when she got an opportunity she jumped onto the buffalo.
Words cannot explain what happened!As she jumped on this buffalo, the buffalo got up and the was a battle on.We waited there for 5 hours.The lioness made 3 attempts but did not succeed!The buffalo was just too big for 1 lioness.Surprisingly, there were 2 males with her,but they didn't bother to assist.It was very strange.

On the first attempt, the buffalo ran onto the road with the lioness on top of him, hitting 1 car with his horns.
That poor guy in the car just drove of in a speed and didnt look back.If only he knew what he missed!

He must have been thinking what am I going to tell my insurance company A BUFFALO WITH A LION ON TOP CAME RUNNING INTO MY VEHICLE.Who on earth is going to believe that

Thanks for taking the time to go through my report

My next few pics are of my most recent trip which was 2 weeks ago

It was really a last minute trip.We had to attend a wedding on a Saturday night in Johannesburg.Left Polokwane Saturday afternoon and told my wife lets just pack clothes in case ....
Who has a wedding on a long weekend!dont they know long weekends are Kruger weekends

We managed to get a safari tent at LS for Sunday night and 2 nights at Satara after that.

We were now pumped up especially after managing to get cancellations at this last moment!At the wedding we discussing what time we going to the hotel as we have to have an early night to leave for Kruger.

We were so pumped up and said come we leave now at 23H00

Then our brains started doing the thinking and we decided to sleep a few hours and move to Numbi Gate.
I couldnt sleep!as you all know the night before a Kruger trip you have those butterflies and you so excited
Finally at 2:00am I get out of bed, enough is enough.I jump out of bed and go in for a shower.I then wake my wife up, tell her car is packed, put my 4 year old daughter in the car we ready to move!We were all so excited!!!My 4 year old daughter is a real Kruger fanatic!!!She just loves KNP

I have never been so pumped up before on a journey!I drove all the way to Nelspruit without stopping!
As you enter Mpumalanga, you in another gear, you like on a natural high

Got to Numbi at about 6:30.There was such a long line, we only entered Kruger at 8:00am.
But what a road trip it was!

We went via H1-1 to Skuks and to LS from there.

We got to LS checked in and relaxed for a while and then went for an afternoon drive.
I received a sighting of a leopard with a kill on s30.We decided to head down that way and see if we get lucky
We got there and there were few cars and only an impala in the tree.
We waited for about an hour but nothing happened.We were in prime position

Gave my space to some nice guy and told him take some nice shots she is going to come soon

We left and headed back to the H10
Just as we turned on the H10 there was 1 car and couldnt believe our luck

We woke up early the next morning and headed down the H10 - S29 -S30

On the S29 we came across a cheetah walking on the road.what a thrilling experience that was!
He walked off into the bush but was still stationary on an anthill.
Told my wife we have to leave the cheetah and carry on to the S30
We got to the S30, the place of the leopard kill, but no leopard.
We were the first car there and I parked in pole position
Other cars started coming but nothing yet.Met the guy who I gave my spot to the previous day, he said after I left the leopard came back and gave them a show of a life time
My heart just sank anyways we waited for over an hour and there she came out of a thick bush from the back and walked towards the tree.My heart started beating like you cant believe as I had this new camera and the shots we were about to take were going to be a once in a life time opportunity and no ways can it be messed up

Here are my few for the day.
These have all been taken at least 2-3 years back

Lions on the move between Skukuza and Lower Sabie
At 1 stage this was the Golden Highway, like you were guaranteed big 5.But in recent years hasnt been that hot for me!Remember once we went to LS from Skuks.Went via S30 Salithie Road and came Back H4-1
We saw 8 different leopard that day!!!Phoned my dad at the last leopard sighting and he says thanks he has seen enough leopard Those were the days lol

We went out for an early morning drive and I planned the route
It was just myself, my dad and younger brother
Went down the S3-S4-S1-S65-H1-1-H3.
We reached the S112 turnoff and we had seen nothing
Now you can see they not too happy Told them come we take a quick drive to Kwaggaspan and we can head back to Skukuza.Not impressed they were, but I have to drive till I find something interesting
Got to Kwaggaspan and looked extra hard but nothing Now I was in big trouble
Took matters into my own hands once more and said Im driving 1km down the H3 and off I went!
"YA BUT WE TIRED NOW THERES NOTHING HAPPENING HERE" my younger brother said

This has got to be 1 of the biggest leopards I have ever seen!!!
We found him between the 2 Orpen Gates.He wasnt even bothered with our presence!!!
He was marking his territory and growling.Truly amazing

Can some expert tell us what could be wrong with his eye.Would be interesting to know

These next few photos were taken at Nsemani Dam on the H7.We got to the dam and she was lying down.
She was close to the road.After some time, something caught her eye on the far side of the dam.She went into stalk mode right round the dam.Was really amazing to see how well camoflaged they are when hunting.
When she got to the far side, an elephant came down to dring and spoilt the whole hunt and the waterbuck ran for their lives

Before i begin this next post, I have to take some time to acknowledge some important people
Everyone in my family read this TR and want to know why are their names not in this report

Let's begin with my little angel Tahseen,my wife Aadiela, my brother Azhar, my dad Adam and my father-in-law Yusuf

My little angel, Tahseen is now 5 and she has been coming to the park since she was just few months old
She loves KNP like you cnt believe!!!She knew the difference between a leopard and cheetah from when she was like 2 years old We would take Tahseen with for a morning drive and it has happened more than 5 times, just when she wakes up we would find a cat within 5 minutes

Aadiela and Azhar got an interesting way of looking at things.I will just say I hope we can see lions, or a leopard and they both will say at the same time hmmmmmm jus forget it, we might as well stop looking lol
very supersticious hahaha
I must admit they have spotted plenty of leopard and lions on their own

My dad claims he is a man with vision.We always laugh it him, but maybe there is some truth to that On my first post with the leopard on the rock, we went on the S30 and he took the turn and took a u-turn immediately and says we on the wrong road not even 2 mins later the leopard sitting on the rock!!!
My dad swears by the S3, the Sabie River road He has seen everything on that road
We were once staying at Skukuza and we went out for an afternoon drive.We going down Eloff Street and like 5km from the T-Junction, by dad pulls up on the side of the road
WE ON THE WRONG ROAD Myself Aadiela, Azhar and Yusuf are all shaking our heads, but the man driving has vision, what can we do
He drives back to Skukuza down towards Kruger Gater, takes the S3 and not even 5 mins a car says leopard crossed 2 minutes ago We driving up and down for some time now and when we about ot give up, Aadiela spotted this beautiful female leopard sitting on a rock
From that day we can't say nothing when my dad driving.When he says he's got vision, he's got vision lol

My father-in-law is like myself and Azhar.Will never miss a morning drive!At the gate before gate opening and wait for gates to open My dad will say I'll meet your'll in the park, he on holiday how can he get up so early!And we start stressing coz the man with vision going to see everything without us Then later in the morning we out of signal and you just see those misses calls from my dad and you in panic mode if we havnt seen anything I have lost count of how many times Yusuf has seen leopards in his rear view mirror I always joke with him and say "I think you should drive in reverse, you got a better chance of seeing leopards


The following pics were taken on 1 of my favourite roads, the S3 close to Kruger Gate
There were 2 big cubs, but very playful and inquisitive

This sighting was the next morning after the leopard cubs.We were about 5 cars.I went onto the S3 from Kruger Gate, hoping to find those leopards of the previous evening and the other cars went down the H11 to Skukuza side.
I wasnt lucky to find them.My cousin Ameeer was in the last car few minutes behind the other cars.He drove few kms down the H11 and a car was stopped, it was a hyena.He was about to drive off and the car stopped him and said a leopard just killed a bushbuck he looked to his left back and there was the leopard carrying the bushbuck in her mouth and walking on the tree Ameer phoned my immediately and i happened to be almost there I owe Ammer big time for that
This was one of our best leopard sightings ever as it was so close and the tree was in a riverbed and the leopard was eye level

This was taken between the the Main gate at Orpen and the boom gate I see many people speeding down these few kilometers but I have seen people posting pics of lions on kills and we also had that huge male leopard here Great stretch!

We decided to go on a sunset drive from Satara.Happened to 1 of the best game drives I have ever experienced!This was in 2010 and the game ranger's name was Edwin Ndlovu.He introduced himself as Edwin and on his name badge was Ndlovu.Myself and my brother Azhar used to always talk about this drive up until today We used to always have an argument as I said the ranger's name was Edwin and he would say Ndlovu I know i was right but he also believed he was right lol About 3 weeks back we were in Satara.My brother calls me and says do you remember this man EDWIN NDLOVU Couldnt believe it we were both right lol
Spoke to Edwin for some time and he said he was on leave and he remembered that night very clearly
Great to see how rangers love KNP.Wish I could be a ranger 1 day
Back to the sunset drive We went down the S100 and came across few cars and there was a male lion sleeping in the distance.15 mins and already and we had seen elephant,buffalo and lion
Off we go.An oncoming car was coming and he was flying lol He was a great man to stop us and tell us a leopard just killed an impala on the s41 towards Nwanetsi just past the 2nd riverbed where there is a small loop to the right.We were all so excited.Took some time to get there, but eventually we made it
Now there's no leopard only a hyena feeding on impala on the ground

The hyena walked away and was sniffing the ground and the leopard came silently like walking as if it was stalking and came to the kill while the hyena wasnt looking

The hyena saw her and she grabbed the kill and jumped up the tree like lightning!Couldnt believe what we were seeing and right next to our vehicle

On our way back on the S100, we saw these lionesses with cubs
They left the cubs in a shrub close to a tree and there they were stalking something but we couldnt see what it was and of they disappeared into the dark Really amazing!

We saw these 2 male on the S1 on the bridge at Nyamundwa Dam
Really beautiful specimens!Unfortunately 1 of the brother's was limping But he was in great condition!
Probably the brother hunted for him

Few months later I found these 2 brothers on the H3 before the S122 turnoff I was listening to cricket commentary and I just put my hand on the volume button and Aadiela screams LIONS Im looking on the other side!It was on my side Till today I hear of that story what if she wasnt looking on my side Poor guy was still limping but in excellent condition!Just shows how big their territories are!I think thats more than 30 kms in a straight line

We were driving on the H4-1.Took Charlie Loop and I saw this fresh impala in a tree.Stopped no sign of the leopard Told my bro in law about it when i was on my way after waiting for so long!
He went past there and he found the leopard in the tree
Early next morning went past there and found him sitting in some branches in the top left of the tree almost invisible.I looked at the tree first, nothing and then saw how well camouflaged he was
