Not posting endangered species.

Unread postby bert » Tue Apr 12, 2011 1:50 pm

Forumites, please do not post locations of endangered species in your Trip Reports
Dear forumites,

In your trip reports and general input on the forums, please do not refer to rhinos or other endangered species if the info may contribute to putting these animals at risk.

Aside from rhinos you should think of nesting places of rare birds like Pel's fishing owl and animals that run the risk of being poached. When in doubt please contact a moderator.

Please respect the sensitivity of this subject, and help us raise awareness in this regard.

For more info please read here: Media Release: War on rhino poaching still on.

Thank you,

Just a reminder about not posting the locations of endangered species in Trip Reports.

Any pics with locations and all replies referring to it, will be edited/removed. Please understand that the request not to post locations comes directly from SANParks and we have to respect that request.
Want to say Thank You or Well Done to a fellow 'mite? Why not nominate them for a Kudu?

This is such a great policy that can only be an advantage to all. I am so concerned about the apparent decreasing numbers of all sorts of animals or wildlife. Thank you all for the great work you do

...Remember..."Extinction is forever and survival is up to---every last one of us!".
"Lose yourself in Nature and find Peace!" (Ralph Waldo Emerson)
do not let poachers take it away!

Extinction is forever and survival is up to---every last one of us!
