A colleague was staying at satara for 2 weeks at beginning of June and also saw the pride in the road - they counted 27 in the pride.

A couple years ago , we regularly saw a pride of 10 lions ( 3 males and 7 females ) around Gudzani at the bottom of the S100 . They seemed to prefer hunting buffaloes . We called them " the Gudzani pride " .
It seems this is probably the same pride which have now grown quite considerably in numbers , obviously all the females having produced litters .
But wow , what I sighting they must be now
Although , I cannot see that this will really continue to remain as one single pride . The youngsters , especially young males will probably soon split off into separate prides

Saw this pride a week ago at Gudzani dam - 7 lionesses and 20 youngsters . It appears there are a number of other big prides in the Satara area . On the same day I saw a pride of 13 at Nsemani dam - 2 males and 3 or 4 lionesses with cubs , and the day before I saw 17 lions (about 5 or 6 lionesses with three quarter grown cubs) at Gudzani east windmill .

Well, we had 4 days at Satara in August. We had a couple of successfull drives along that road. The best was when we saw a small pride at 0700 and they basically laid near the road most of the day.

Wow Awesome sightings and video flip

I havent had the best of luck on S100 to be honest.
Drive it early later etc best sighting middle of the day.
Lioness with 7 cubs.
That afternoon we drove H7 got back to camp people told us the lioness with cubs got joined by 7 more females and 2km from them mating pair of lions.
Lets see if i can still post pics been a while

could somebody who is more of an expert than I am make an educated guess about the age of these cubs? I filmed on them on the S100 so they might very well be another addition to the Mega Pride.

Cannot give an educated guess. But they are very young.
