Hi everyone!

I am honoured to have been able to contribute a comprehensive blog post to The Digital Photography School listing 10 tips for improving your Wildlife Photography...from my perspective. It includes a bunch of images and examples.

Would LOVE for you to check it out and let me know what you think. The information is useful for all situations from photographing squirrels in your backyard to visiting our National Parks.

Here's the link:

Cheers!

Great article, thank you!

Tip #10, of being there and enjoying the moment struck a chord for me. We went gorilla trekking in Uganda and Rwanda, and we only had 60 minutes to spend with them. At one point, I stopped looking thru my camera and just watched them for awhile. The guides thought I was nuts, and kept pushing me to take photos the whole time. One of them offered to take some photos for me, so I just handed over my camera. Yes, I like looking back thru my images (hundreds of them!), but I won't forget the feeling I had of taking it all in when I was there and saw them with my own eyes.

Good Day Morkel777.

Thank you for the great artical. It really is the a good sumation. Although I really still need to practice a lot more with my garden birds. I find I over and under expose to many photo's still. Very hard in changing light conditions...

I will get better at it.... 8)

P.S you take some stunning photo's, and like you said if the light is right, shoot away regardless of subject!

Hi Morkel, thanks for the tips, just what I needed.

Since I only bought my first ever SLR (and a 150-500 lens) in June this year, I'm still very frustrated with my results, but I practice on my backyard birds everyday! Your notes will help a lot, especially on our next trip now in Oct to KNP.

Great examples too, pics I can only dream off!

Thanx Morkel777. Learn't a good lesson i.e. get to know your camera equipment. I tend to forget that all the time and wander afterwards what went wrong.

A great thread.
