To all my fellow forumites I was asked awhile ago how one can get onto a sandriver bush camp and my answer was it is like finding hens teeth! Well GREAT news I found some hens teeth.....I can offer 8 people a space on the camp in May 2013 please PM me if interested and I will forward details, if I do not get enough interest I will be selling the camp to one of my suppliers but thought I would like to offer it to my like minded forumites first.
Google Sand River to get an idea of the awesomeness of the camp.

I haven't been since the revamp.

My first visit.

Bruce Brydon is the tall fellow slightly to the right.

This is a pace worth going to. Nothing can compare... well if you like no electricity, water restrictions.. for the men, a loo with a view. Bush fire talks, wild excurtions... and.. and .. and...

Maybe there is a door now to the men's toilet  Guess where angels feared to tread

I was there 3 weeks ago :D As the HR doing the catering, but even with the hard work its a fantastic place to be! Our guests saw 2 leopards 300m from the camp gate one evening, and the group after us watched a leopard stalk the bushbuck that live around the fence of the camp, and had lion ellie and buffalo in the river bed the same evening!

It is soooooo special. Once when I went I was told by the HR that the Leopard had made a kill with the previous group. It had dragged the kill up a tree right next to the fence. A group of Hyena got wind of the kill and they spent a fascinating time watching the Hyena trying to get hold of the Leopards kill, while the Leopard kept them at bay with hissing and snarling.

One night a group of ellies and a pride of Lion had a territorial battle through the night in the river bed. It was chilling to hear these enorous animals use the worst possible pub language. It seemed to shake the bush.

At about 3am a male Lion walked past my tent, the one closest to the ablutions, roaring his protest. It was ice chillingly scary.

Loo with a view is still just that!

The safari-type tents now have LED lights in them, and the paths in camp also have little LED lights for safety. The dining area has been tiled (but they are slippery so watch your footing!)

The kitchen area. The sound of bird life can be quite amazing at times. Last time I was there, there was also a leguane that made frequent visits. Its where I once saw an elephant shrew and lots of signs of antlion activity.
