An AWC visits Satara cam so often that the cammers have named him/her. Perhaps the same cat?

As you can see, the cat is certainly grey in colour :D

On a night drive we saw an AWC right outside the gate, and another across the road within a couple of minutes. A third was seen about 50m further down the road. I think Satara is an AWC hotspot. We have seen Honey Badger raiding Bins late nights too.

Hallo all

I have booked bungalow BG2HB in Satara but can't find it on the camp layout. Can anyone tell me the bungalow number for BG2HB as there is only 1 in camp and what is the diffirence between BG2 and BG2HB.

Just returned from 5 nights at Satara. stayed in D circle . At about 4.30pm our first day an A W C crossed the circle , it was light grey in colour and was recognisable by its longish legs, unfortunately it happened so quickly I was not able to take a photo.

Hi Laeveldleeu

Unit BG2HB is in the B circle. Number 42 to be exact. It's the one bungalow in the B circle that has not been upgraded. I have pictures of that unit and will add them to the accommodation threat later today.

Why has just that one unit not been upgraded. I booked this morning and I asked what the difference was between the hb and was told that the hb are the newer ones,,,, so I booked that. Only after did I discover that there is only one, so am thinking that I should phone and change it to another unit.

Also, some confusion here as the B circle is actually one of BG3 with 3 beds, and the photo of the BG2HB shows 3 beds .... so are there actually 3 beds in this unit. I would love to see the photos of it when you have time to post them :)

Hi barkingmad

I really don't know about this unit. If you don't trust it, try to change to another unit. I added some pictures of number 42 in the accommodation thread. Have a look HERE

Have a nice day

Only 16 days until we arrive in KNP  its so close I can just about smell the sweet Kruger air...

We will be staying in Roodewal for 3 nights and making our way South past Satara.

Anyone who has recently stayed at Satara, please share some of your sightings and news with us? Which roads did you drive and where did you get lucky? Particularly the Timbavati road (S39) and H1-4 North of Satara.

How has the rainfall been in the central region of the park and is there any water in the rivers/ dams yet?

Look forward to the response
