Hi to you, our trip from Phabeni to Punda is drawing closer. In fact, we would like to do it on Sunday the 26th Aug and I would like to know whether or not the main road between Olifants and Satara has now been repaired. The last time we went along that road, the 19Km deviation with a rather large old caravan (which is not an off roader), was not a pleasant experience ......
Can someone please tell me that my prayers have been answered and that the road has indeed been repaired.
I would be :D all the way

Dear 'mites :)

The road between Satara and Olifants is still closed :( . Our maintenance team is currently busy on the site to ensure that the road is fixed as soon as possible. However, you are advised to use the detour which is ± 19 KM.

Apologies for the incovinience caused.

Thanks Lesego,
We plan to go that way by ± the 19th of next month and I sincerely hope that it is repaired by then because when I travelled the deviation last time ............ with a reasonly large caravan which is not "off road", it's not the most enjoyable.
Hope that the guys will  and have it done by then.

Hi there Lesego, SANParks Forum

Any updates on this road at all? We will be driving it in a month from Talamati. We just wondering if we can go down to about the Boabab tree, or if we should save that hour and go via Sweni road.

One month and counting. :)

Ok, cool no problem.

Now I know which way is best for a relaxing drive without having to rush. I will enjoy the drive either way.

It looks like we will have to go from Talamati via the Sweni Road to the H1-5, a pop into Olifants for lunch and a leisurely drive along the River Road to Letaba.

(We leaving via the H7 and doing half the H7 when we arrive in Kruger, so we not wanting to do it again)

I am so excited. 28 days to go.

Koos, I am sure Lesego will let us know as soon as more info becomes available.
So for now we will just have to hope all is on track and the bridge will be ready by the end of Sept as at the last bulletin.
