In 2011 we did a 'first' Christmas drive and the beneficiary school was Welcome Primary just outside the Park. The Christmas drive was done in conjunction with the clothing drive and the lady behind the scenes doing all the work was Scouter.

This year we have been asked to please do it again, obviously this year we will take a different school/s, we have spoken about it with management and decided that the two schools which will be beneficiaries this year will be Tsamma Land and also Groot Mier. I have asked the teacher at Groot Mier for more detail about the kids in the school and we are looking at about 70 Kids in Groot Mier and about 20 at Tsamma Land.

How the 'project' worked was that people who wanted to get involved asked either for a boy or girl name and a age they wanted to buy a present for not more that R 40,00. The present where then send to the park (wrapped) with the individuals name on it. I then arranged with the respective school to hand out the presents just before the schools closed. Scouter has been involved last year and if she wouldn’t mind to assist again .....

Guinea Pig has also offered her admin assistance to the project THANK YOU SO MUCH

If there are any mites who want to get involved kindly PM Scouter or Guinie Pig.

Lets again show the communities how caring we can be and to put a smile on a Childs face.

Ooooh YES PLEASE - I'm more than happy to run with this again - in fact, Ive already had a couple of lovely 'mites asking me for names and ages for this year !!! Last year it took all of about 24 hours for ALL the 116 kids to be allocated to 'mites and every single prezzie was delivered to TR on time - thank you all again

Jannie and I have spoken about this and we felt that maybe this year the present value should be R50 if that's ok with you all. I will liase with Jannie and as soon as we have the lists from the schools of names and ages I will let you know and allocate you however many children you want to buy for as well as their sexes and ages - just send me a PM and I will add you to the list

Morning all.

It hasn’t even been 24 hours since this posting went up and we have reached over 55% of the target for presents for about 90 kids.

This just shows how amazing the MITES are and caring they are. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your unselfishness and willingness to assist, to put a smile and make the day a special one for kids you don’t even know.

You guys are just amazing

Scouter, how will we "get" our kids??

Will you PM us or just post a list for us to check?

Just remember that the boys are > 5000 and the girls < 5000!

Other than a max of R 50, what other restrictions are there on the gifts eg no guns - pellets, BB or cap, no sewing sets with needles/ pins, no small parts remembering that there are younger kids in the same families etc or is it left to our "common sense". I am used to doing the Santa Shoebox where there is along list of musts and mustn'ts.
