Danie,

Thanks for your whole team for keeping the cams going. I am a new member and have not read all the posts. The cam at Addo is taking shots at different angles. Is this possible for the Satara can as well. A few days ago a hiena was lying at the adge of the picture and it would have been nice to see a full image

Hi johanmom

Apologies for the late reply! This one slipped me!

It is 100% possible to do as Satara and Nossob are the two fixed cams left with no 'touring' or auto-programming on this camera (Nossob the same).

The camera at Satara has the same capabilities as the ones at Orpen and Addo (and Nossob). That can be done as you requested but I think we should get the feeling of the rest of the forumites and cammers as well.

Bear in mind that the 'touring' of the camera (auto-moving on programmed presets) will make the current time-lapse footage created of Satara cam not usable!

Find the poll here and vote/air your view!

Danie wrote:Cammers, I am sorry about the flood light's bulb at Satara webcam - seems to have blown  .

My colleagues at Satara will attend to it soon (well not tonight...that would be a bit dangerous!). But tomorrow!

Fortunately it was working while the lions were active at the waterhole the previous 2 nights!

Thanks for your understanding and patience!

Good news! The bulb of the flood light at Satara waterhole was replaced this morning! The replacement could not take place the previous evening or the previous day as the lions were always in close proximity and it was a bit dangerous to replace the flood light then :naughty:

Thanks to JV and his team at Satara!

Happy camming!

Has something bumped Orpen cam out of alignment?... it seems centered off to the left of the waterhole now:

Apologies for Orpen Cam being stuck at wrong positions and missing the waterhole!

A good old 'reboot' of the webcam did the trick and reset all back to normal again! Happy camming! :D

The Satara Cam seems to be out of action a lot at the moment, is there something wrong with it?

Sorry about Satara cam being out of action at times, Bazzlewazzle.

The cam is constantly monitored, see just above the cam here :
Please Note
We are constantly monitoring the Satara webcam for stability, if you do not see a live stream below, we will resolve this as soon as we are able.

Thanks Matthys, sorry I missed that "warning". Why does it struggle more than the others just out of curiosity?

I am not sure, Bazzlewazzle but think that there might still be problems with an unstable line ?

Danie wrote:The tree in the transmission path of the microwave link at Satara has been trimmed BUT the problem with the unstable line persists.

The telecom service provider are still working on this problem and are busy doing another series of tests to find the root of the problem as the link is still "flapping"! :wall:

We hope to have it resolved very soon!

Will ask Danie

I've noticed that we got strange things happening with
the highlights at the bottom of the page.

At first it changed a webcam capture to my name,
but still showing the highlight before it.

Right now we got webcam highlights from yesterday. :hmz:

Oops, back to today's highlights again,
but name changes without frame changes.
