Welcome to the forums and hope you will have a great time here.

The two campsites Witgat and Swartbas cannot be booked separately as they form part of the Nossob 4x4 Eco Trail, you will have to book the trail to be able to overnight at these sites.
Regarding Rooiputs and Polentswa the mites have given you very useful information where to book.

That is so TRUE DQ, the Kgalagadi just has a way in bringing people back

I was recently (Mid-June) camped at Khiding Pan. Next morning we took the drive to the West past Malatso Pan to ( I hope you can pronounce it!) Magobewatihangwe Pan and shortly thereafter came across a trail, little used, signposted "Mabuasehube - Kaa". Can anyone tell me what route this trail takes? As it is fairly close, I would think it joins up with the old cut-line/now main road from Mabua to Kaa. But hopefully it is more interesting than that. The Staff at Mabua Entrance Gate were not able to throw any light on the subject, so I rely on someone out there who has been along it............

It is a wilderniss trail. You must book it by DWNP in Gaberone. You must stay one night at the pan and the next day to Nossob. It is a one way route.

Thanks, Dotty, and thanks Elize. But Dotty, the route I ask about would fill that blank space running north-west of Malatso to Kaa. And Elize, I am aware of the access road from Malatso to Nossob, but it is not that one of which we saw the start. Have asked Gaberone for info and hope something comes through. But thanks for the prompt response....

I speak to my son today. They were there in May. The one rangertell them this is a new road that goes directly to KAA gate, they want to make it easier for them and tourist in the future to drive from Kaa to Mabua. They also plan on campsites along the road.

We will be visit Mabua in December, i will also ask as we plan to go to KAA also.

Don't worry, Dotty, I think the trail in question is too new to be on any map. En dankie vir die terugvoering, Elize, jou seun se inligting klink helemaal redelik. Enjoy your December trip - to my mind mid to late summer with its cloud effects and chance of rain makes the Kalahari a very exciting place to visit. Add to that all the new-born young and the summer bird visitors and the whole trip is magic. I might, just might, be there in January!

Is it possible to do day trips on the Botswana side of the park - ie not sleeping over at Rooiputs etc?

Has anyone done this and what roads are available to day visitors based at Twee Rivieren/Nossob?
Any info will be appreciated!

At a stage you could buy a day pass at twee Rivieren to enter on the Botswana side.

Ask at the Botswana side at reception.
