WILD CARD RENEWAL

Unread postby DSouter » Mon Apr 30, 2012 11:19 am

I could not remember when my Wild Card expired so decided today to renew online.

I completed the online form using the number from my "New" Earth Wild Card but when the process was completed I see that I now have a new Card number and so I am not sure whether any time left on my previous card was taken into account or have I now lost that?

It would be a nice feature to get an e-mail a month before expiry with a link to the webpage completed with your correct number.

DSouter,

Please could you complete this form and email it to the address on the form. (You will need to print and scan it).

http://www.sanparks.org/assets/docs/wild-card/registration-query-form.pdf

This will enable the team to link your renewal number to your original card.

I will pass on your query about expiry times and the email reminder to teh Wild Card team.

DSouter,

I have had a response from Wild Card about the general issues you raised about time left on the card when renewed early.

The membership renewal rules are as follows:

· If the client has renewed before his old membership has expired, he will not lose the remaining days.

· He is able to renew his membership only 3 months before his current expiry date and not longer than that.

· If his membership has expired his renewed membership will start from the date he renews and will expire 365 days later.

As part of the new developments (coming soon), customers will get renewal reminders from a month before their memberships expire.

I still haven't been given a timeline for the new developments, other than "soon".

They also tell me that currently only the call centre can manually link the renewed membership and can send the renewal confirmation letters as they have access to the new system. Please complete the form I sent you and you should get your renewal and Wild Card numbers linked.

I hope this answers your questions.

Can someone please help!

My Wild Card has expired. I am going to Kruger at the end of September 2012. Would it be better for me to renew my Card before I go (and if so, how long before, is advisable?) or should I renew it at Malelane Gate when I get there?

Renew at the gate/camp. They have the facilities to link your renewal number and Wild Card together to save you a phone call.

If it was me I would only renew when you get there, or just before, because it is valid for a year after renewal, so if you do it then you have a whole year's validity, for other visits you may make.

That is, unless you only go once a year, and then it doesn't really matter when you renew!!

Mind you that is only my opinion.

Thanks so much Saraf and Crested Val. I was thinking along those lines as well :).

I just needed to know that I was on the right track. I didn't want any delays or hassles when I got to the Gate.

I do only manage a once a year trip, altho' I REALLY wish I could go more often. I can't wait!!!!!

Mauxie........hope you have a wonderful trip.

Most probably you will not renew your card at Malalane Gate, but at the camp you are staying at.
When we entered through Malalane Gate last year and asked how we renew our card, we were told that we could do it at any camp, so it was very easy to just go to reception when we arrived at Croc Bridge, our first camp. They were very helpful and efficient, and it took hardly any time.

We will be doing the same this year, when we enter through Malalane Gate, as our card has expired again.

Thanks again Crested Val.

I don't know if you remember but we were supposed to look out for each other last year. I had to sadly postpone my trip, due to personal reasons, but the good part about that is that I now have a paid for, :D new trip to look forward to in 13 weeks time.

Hi Mauxie
Sadly we don't arrive in SA till Nov 1st, so will will miss you.

We then stay in and around Kruger for 4 months (Nov - March) and then Port Edward KZN South Coast for 2 months (March and April) before flying back to UK.

I see from your location you stay in KZN as well, so maybe we could meet up there sometime (if you'd like to!!)

Here's hoping that you have an awesome trip, travel safely, and may you be blessed with many wonderful sightings.

Very best wishes
Val.

Renewed online today. They still give U a new number. Tried to contact online but my query got. Kicked away saying my security code was wrong - no second chance. Any way filled in a query form an faxed that over to update renewal to existing "smartcard". Will see if that works. Else will have to call the callcentre and face identity interogation. I had spare time today but if it can't work online how can it work standing at a reception counter trying to check into accomodation. Is everybody just using confirmation letters way beyond the 30 day validity?

Well I renewed my Wild Card on Monday and it was a fairly painless job. Just a couple of problems early on ,

You now have to type in two of Surname, ID no or Wild Card No. Initially I used all three, but the system couldn't find me. It seems that my Wild Card no on the system is now the same as the number on my actual card.
Secondly, you have to comfirm your phone no and email address, but when you click the button nothing seems to happen at first, don't click again, the system is working.

Anyway apart from the fact that I was seen as a different race group, and Jan's name was wrong, everything else including payment went ok.

You no longer have to re-update your details, or ring to get the various numbers linked, there is only one number.

So well done to everyone involved for sorting things out.

Now we only need the much talked about rewards to materialise.

Waiting impatiently for 26th to try it out. Look out Satara! :D
Long live Cricket@Skukuza

DavenJan,

Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking of renewing my Wildcard at Orpen on 26 Dec, but maybe I must try paying my card on-line before my trip to Kruger.

Might just bump into you at the gate or near Satara
