hi,

Ill be arriving to the KNP on the 4.4.11 but there is a possibility that ill arrive just at the time of the gates are being closed... (18:00)

My first camp is berg-en-dal and im cant reach them in order to request a late arrival arrangment... (im arriving through malelane gate)
Anyone knows if they have a valid e mail i can use?

And whats exactly is the procedure - do i arrive at the gate and allowed to drive by my self to the camp or is there someone there waiting for me for an escort to the camp?

if it is an escort to the camp - does it cost extra - and how much ?

thanks again in advance for the help !!
cant wait !!

Just saw this.....if you can call the camp before gate closing time to let them know you will be late it will be best. 0828021201 for the BnD duty manager. When you arrive at the gate the security personnel will notify the camp and someone will drive through to escort you in. You must arrive in time to be in camp by 2100 as after that the escort no longer applies and you have to wait for the morning.

After all these years on the forum and knowing about this service, something has just occurred to me.

What happens if you get a late transfer but reception is closed. How do you pick up the keys?

That is arranged between the duty manager and the escort. Your keys are either in the bungalow or given to the escort - they need to know which bungalow to take you to anyway! If camping they will help you find a spot.

homer.s - last year we needed an escort from Malelane gate to Berg n Dal after gate closing time. It is best to ring in advance an hour or so before arrival if you can. Tel: +27 (0)13 735 6106/7 .

Hello
If we arrive late after gate closure and get an escort to the camp - how much costs the escort?
Do we need to pay the conservation fee on this day?
Thank you,
Anda
