That's areal beauty Spokie
Incidently , when we visited Mokala last year , I got the impression that the Kudu there seemed just a tiny shade darker in colour than the ones in Kruger . :hmz:
Has anyone noticed this at all , or :hmz: was it perhaps just my imagination

The space between the Kudu horns [ when looking from the front ], resemble an upside-down cathedral bell's profile - the deeper the curl of the horns and wider spread the horns are the more perfect this "bell" is shaped. :)

Kudu with third horn?

Unread postby WildWings » Sun Oct 30, 2011 7:47 pm

I recently (27/10/2011) saw this Kudu bull along the Sabie river in Kruger. I noticed an unusual horny growth on his face.

A closer view of the horny growth.

Can anybody provide an explanation?

No answer, but I saw kudus with similar growths in Marloth Park.
Smiling is contagious. Start an epidemic today!

Have you read the entrance permit? Do you KNOW the Conditions of Entry?

Completed over 6 years in Kruger in my caravan.

If I was normal I wouldn't be me!

Did You Know? :hmz:
Stevenson Hamilton had to raise his garden fence to 3 meters as the Kudus ate the plants in his garden in the dry season.

Did You Know? :hmz:
The hair on the tail of the Kudu is used to make an artificial 'fly' which is used to catch tiger fish.
