Fantastic and Intresting reading, beats TV anyday.
I did not realise I knew so little about Kruger.
Shall have to study this(and some more)- so my future grandchildren will think that I am really clever when I educate them about KRUGERPARKING.

Is Bush Andy still around?

I have JJ Kloppers and Hans Bornman's book, "A Dictionary of Kruger Park Place names". I would gladly keep this thread going.

I would ask mites that if they want a particular name explained that they ask on this thread. This is such a valuable thread, I think.

Lanner Gorge was named by the famous conservationist and ranger, Mike English. It was named after the Lanner Falcons that can be found in this area.

Not since December, it seems MM.

Stunning thread so I think it would be great if you kept it going

MM, looks as though the Torch has been passed. This is a great topic - glad I found it!

This is indeed very interesting! I wonder what happened to Bush Andy? The last time he wrote something was in May 2009, 3 years ago! :( Fortunately we have MM to carry on with this thread!

The Maqili Hill (674m) north-west of Malelane Camp means “wise acres” in Shangaan. The S110 road is nearby and the Maqili hill can be seen along this route which is almost on Kruger’s border. To the south is the highest peak – Khandzalive (840m) and to the west Tlhalabye (630m).
