Also from the See Berg hide. I was waiting for the Eurasian Oystercatcher that never turned up when a Black-backed Gull came flying towards me and landed. It was a beautiful morning and the light was still soft enough. I know Gulls are boring and common as grass, but I like the pose, light, sharpness and the small "wave" in the foreground.

These are just stunning Touareg!

Thank you. I don't understand the settings becasue I don't have a fancy camera, but really appreciate the clarity of the photos and beauty of the birds! :gflower: :gflower:

Another of my favorite local birds, the Marsh Harrier. This one shot from the Abrahamskraal hide end of 2011.

So scratching around for something worth posting I decided on this image of a Yellow-billed Kite as shot at the Abrahamskraal hide in the WNP in December.

At last I have been to a National Park and can post some more pics for you. I was in the Addo last weekend and have a few images for you. Here is a special one for me as this is my first Red-Backed Shrike.

Enjoy.

Great thread, going to go back & start at the beginning!

The Shrike is brilliant.

Look forward to more, especially with the trip plans you have in place

Moving away from the Birds of prey for a moment, here is a Namaqua Dove as shot at the Cubitje Quap water hole, 10km north of Nossob. It was late afternoon and the birds were coming and going which allowed plenty of opportunity to try bird in flight shots.
