Hi there mites!

Leopards must certainly be my favourite of the big 5! Because they’re so elusive and shy. While browsing through this fantastic forum, and seeing all your fantastic photos, it just made me go a little green. I always go into shake mode whenever we come across that spotted cats.
So I thought let us give credit to those pics that will never be in the running for "photo of the year"
It could be that you had the perfect spot and oppurtunity but your excitement got the better of you OR you didn't have the percfect spot, and that branch was just always in the way......

So here goes......
I don’t know if we will have any members in this club though.......

This first pic was taken near Lower/sabie. we actually saw 2 different leopards not even 1km apart. This was the second LIT,just before gate closing time, so far.............

This pic was taken at Skukuza highwater bridge. Very early one morning, we only saw for a few seconds before he jumped of the tree stump.

Near Nkumbe on our recent trip, we could only see about 20 spots for most of the time...

Ahh, the wonders of digital - If you look closely you will see that her head was completely in the shade.

U-Point technology in Nikon Capture took care of it in a few seconds

I spotted LOG/LUB (Leopard under bridge,that's a first) eventually, but I'm sure that memory was priceless...

Don't know about worst - but this is my most frustrating photo


I have plenty of bad ones too......

I must say this is a club I can very easily join!!!............

Got some awesome photos as prove of just how horrible photos can go wrong!!!

The next four were all on one trip...........different leopards..........but I must say some later moved and we could get better photos..............

South of Lower Sabie.

There are more of other leopard sightings over the years...............just don't want to bore you to death with my stunning photographic skills!!!!

Then I don't talk about those through the windscreen photos.........all blur and now focus...........the left hand mirror and no leopard photos...........etc...........

Hi Twigga nice idea for a thread.

My LIT pic is from a recent visit to KTP and a very zoom-in image. You can take a guess where this leopard is hiding.



This pic was taken of a LOG south of Tshokwane on 16 June 2011. This was an enormous roadblock and I could not see the leopard from the driver seat. My SO took the pic as evidence. About 15 min after stopping at Tshokwane some-one told us that the leopard walked towards the road and they got some good pics.

Another shy LIG half way between Olifants and Satara. When we stopped I did noy see what my SO spotted, but after a while the leopard moved and ran across the road.

This one has to be worth something in this context.

The leopard is there. Somewhere just left of center in the bottom third of the pic.

It was taken on 25 August 2011 during my last KNP trip.
