Does anyone know if Skukuza Golf Course is open for play after the floods?

I just saw on a facebook that there were severe storms in the Shingwedzi area again on Sat 11 Feb - is this true? Are there other parts of Kruger that have been hammered again, so soon after the last floods?

Just returned from spending 3 awesome days at Satara. I haven't seen that area looking as lush in many years, and we saw more giraffe and buffalo than in many years.

The speed at which Kruger's management and staff is addressing the flood damage is to be commended.

What is not acceptable though is the total lack of warning and information on closed roads. I went to the trouble to go through the press release and mark the open roads, but why couldn't Kruger do that too? We met the same young German couple who were in a panic at not being able to travel their planned routes three times.

An A4 map with the closed roads clearly marked would have saved them a lot of anguish. It appeared that foreign visitors were the worst affected - many of them had no idea about the floods or the closures.

Once the link has opened , if one scrolls down there is a graphic showing the predicted path - as you can see the webmaster who is an undisputed expert on weather matters saw fit to incorporate it , thus it is cause for current concern in the area that it is currently situated , though it may lose strength or change direction and it is impossible to predict its path - as you will see the webmaster will not risk an opinion on this .

One can page back (see bottom of page on the guestbook) to see its progress and read updates .

I see Satara has been left off the list of open camps in the latest flood update dd 10th Feb 2012. Any particular reason, or just omitted in error?
