Matthys , now that is a very interesting animal you mentioned . Baardskeerder .
It refers to an Arachnid , and it looks like a spider , but is not a spider . It is a member of the Solifugae , and has six legs instead whereas a spider has 8 .
It is also called a "rooiman " ( redman ) , or roman ( sort of short for rooiman ) , haarskeerder ( hair-shearer ) , son spinnekop ( sun spider ) .
They hunt at night , running after their prey , and boy , can they move You should see them They will catch anything from another spider , scorpion , lizard , crickets , small frogs , you name it

By the way , even spinnekop , translated means "spinning head " .
