Hi Pete,

Nearest I can find is Karoo Scrub-robin. Looks like your first two photos are of a juv, with the last two being adults.

I reckon you are exactly correct - Karoo Scrub Robin, the clincher being the white at the tip of the tail that I now see in my notes as being conspicuous in flight. Thanks so much for helping out - my inital ID was WAY off the mark. That's what I love about this forum; every time I take part I learn something new about my hobby. Having so many juveniles about at the moment makes life difficult for us beginners.

Now the good news: the Karoo Scrub Robin means I can tick a lifer! Thanks barcud.
