Wild cards brought online + late entry

Unread postby AgeingHippy » Sun Nov 20, 2011 3:27 pm

Hi All

I would like to confirm that if I purchase wild cards online I will only need to produce ID and a reference number at the gate?

We are entering at Punda Maria and will be entering late under the 'late entry' scheme since we will be driving up from Johannesburg. Will the fact that we are arriving late cause a complication re online wild cards?

Finally, I believe there is a new form of ID book? I have an old green one. Would this still suffice for me to get the SA national wild card?

I tried calling the Punda Maria gate to tell them we would be arriving late but the lady was not too keen on taking any details. The website requests guests to notify beforehand so these escorts could be better arranged. I assume that is then when you are only a few hours away?

I must admit I am now getting a little concerned given the response on the phone :(

If you arrive late the gate generally allows you through to the camp and the key fetched from camp gate guard.
The following morning you have to report at reception to sort out paperwork and that is where the proof of wild card will be necessary.

Both RobertT and Dotty are correct. You will need your confirmation letter and ID and you will sort out the paperwork the following morning.

Please note that you have to be a resident in an SADC country and will need proof of residence to qualify for the SADC prices.
Want to say Thank You or Well Done to a fellow 'mite? Why not nominate them for a Kudu?

You will indeed need to prearrange a late entry with Punda. And will have to pay for it! From memory it's only R150, so the phonecall might actually be more expensive.
But without arranging it you'll be stuck outside the park.
Arriving currently: The photos from our trip! Overhere! :yaya:

Feel free to use any of these additional letters to correct the spelling of words found in the above post: a-e-t-n-d-i-o-s-m-l-u-y-h-c

@Saraf - so being a SA citizen is not adequate?

Joao, all the information I have been given by the Wild Card authorities says that you have to be resident in an SADC country.

Hmm..

Maybe I will then purchase the wild cards in the park then to avoid buying the wrong one.
