The growing list of sites to learn about digital photography

Unread postby turkoyz » Fri Oct 21, 2011 6:15 pm

Please join me in building a list of websites that teaches you everything about digital photography.

In our case the emphasis will obviously fall on wildlife photography.

I know it's a very broad field, maybe we can later compartmentalise it?

Something like:

1. The basics of a digital camera
2. The readings on your camera
a. ISO
b. F
c. etc.
3. Basic terms
a. Depth of field
b. White noise
c. etc
4. How to take photos when it's ...
a. Daytime
b. Nighttime
c. Raining
d. Moving object
e. Landscape
f. Sunrise/ sunset

You get the idea.

I'll start with this contribution:
http://camerasim.com/camera-simulator.html

What's your contribution?

Try Karl Taylor Photography - very good explanation of the basics and a free beginners course which I found really useful.

I have some of his DVDs. This guy is amazing with a camera. Would recommend it to anyone that is just starting out or have been doing it for awhile.

This past weekend they had a challenge to take a photo every hour on the hour with your cellphone. It was not to see what quality you could get it was about what you see and how you place it in your photo! Go have a look :) you will love it
