Definitely my favourite when it comes to antelopes. A couple of pictures taken during our August trip to KNP.

Taken around Punda Maria, a real price winner pair of horns

Another beauty having a nap and taken around Lower Sabie

How can I forget the females

That's areal beauty Spokie
Incidently , when we visited Mokala last year , I got the impression that the Kudu there seemed just a tiny shade darker in colour than the ones in Kruger . :hmz:
Has anyone noticed this at all , or :hmz: was it perhaps just my imagination

Have noticed it as well Okie
But not that obvious than the giraffes that's much more noticeable lighter in color than those found in Kruger on the other hand. :hmz:

If I remember correctly, this young elephant was orphaned and tagged along with the buffalo herd, who, for some reason, obviouly accepted it as one of their own - when we saw it, it was right in amongst them.

As the elephant grew up, it apparently became the leader of the herd (presumably because of its size?). I don't know what happened to it in later years, though. Maybe it left when it reached maturity? (How do you sneak off and leave a herd of buffalo behind, though?)

This Albino Ellie was spotted 01/11/11 East of Krugger gate

Did You Know? :hmz:
A Kudu can jump over a fence of 2.5 meters high and can jump over 9 meters in length.

Stevenson Hamilton had to raise his garden fence to 3 meters as the Kudus ate the plants in his garden in the dry season.

Did You Know? :hmz:
The life expectancy of a male kudu is about 7 years, where the female kudu can live up-to 15 years.

Did You Know? :hmz:
The hair on the tail of the Kudu is used to make an artificial 'fly' which is used to catch tiger fish.

Nice pics Leeukos.
There`s nothing like a big old bull turning blue around the neck, staring down at you!
And then the cows with those big radar dish ears. Absolutely stunning antelope!
Thanks Leeukos!
