Terrible road, we drove it this morning and only found 13 lion cubs together, not even adults, it just shows how bad this road is.

Hope you guys chased the lions away .... no one wants this road to gain a good reputation

Up until my last visit in early September I'd had vey little luck on the S100. This visit I had great sightings two days running of the pride nursery and watched the youngsters charge when the hunters returned!

What is with the s100 nursery school phenomenon
Do ALL the lions in Kruger get born on the s100?

Yessss ... they do! {can you hear my attitude in that reply?}

WTM's cardboard cutouts have long washed away ... so only the proposed sites for the drive thro KFC and real animals are left.

Just wondering if the OLD Rat Pack (you know the ou manne) and the REALLY OLD manne (the Duke guys - the oupas) could handle a challenge in the KNP from the young and up coming musketeers

I try to , but all 30 keep coming back onto the road every morning, it is a problem

Luckily the leopard we saw hid away a bit better for our other drives.

I know that there is a huge mega pride on the S100 seen around Shibotwana Waterhole

I wonder if any of you have any photos of them?

The best I have is of 13 in the road.

Flutterby had a TR where she saw 11 or so lion cubs on the S100. The TR was something along the lines of "a 7 day Flutter". I can only imagine they property of the Mega pride!

There are actually 2 "Super Prides" of over 20 lions hanging around in the Singita concession to the East of the S90. Sometimes they venture into the "normal Kruger" regions, and those who find them have a sighting of note.

A few years ago i saw photos of a pride of I think 32 or 34 lions close to the berg en dal rangers' home. Was amazing, but sorry i do not have photos to share

Last September, I saw the nursery of this large pride which was left with a young female.
As the lionesses returned fourteen cubs of different sizes charged to meet them tho' I only managed to get 9 in one pic!

I have seen 20 lions cross the S90, about 5km from the H1-4.

The area is ideal for large prides. Bruce Aiken's book titled "Nightstalk - A Story of a Kruger Pride" (published round about 1984 or '85 I speak under correction), tells a story of a mega pride totalling 39 at its peak who inhabited a larged area just south of the eastern half of the H6, roughly where the Sweni trail camp is located today.

The waterhole is the first s100 waterhole. I'm guessing about 6km East of the main road

Thanks for sharing Granjan!! Great pic Those were the smallies I was referring to in Flutterby's TR In September and October last year the cubs were being seen on the S100. The moms must have been somewhere

If I'm not mistaken Glen, that massive pride south of the H6, is the Singita Pride

I think the Singita pride was/is to the east of the S41 if I recall correctly .
The mega pride I was referring to existed round about 1984.

Well at the 'end' of the H6 when you go left its the S41, and if you go right onto the S37 Trichard Road, the Singita concession camp is a little bit onto the S37

If you remember my March 2011 trip report I saw 6 Males on the H6 who attacked another male.
Other Mites have other footage of these 6 males attacking males and females on different occasions on the S41.
People were saying that these nomadic brothers grew up in the Singita Mega pride with a history of violence. The males were pushed out of the pride and became the thugs on the block.
