For me, Kruger is about "islands in time".

Sometimes, not to give away what times  , I close my eyes...

and this appears:

it is a path

it is a moment of hope

it is a moment of awe

it is a moment of laughter

here is Duke in the sunset:

It is a moment of grace.

Bushmad what an awesome post! It brought tears to my eyes and filled my heart with longing for a little bit of Island Time and that feeling that all is right with the world. Thank you.

Hi everybody
I love reading the forum and looking at all the wonderful photos that you guys post. I'm going to to Kruger next weekend and I rented a nice lens from outdoorphoto....so I wanted to ask if you know of some really great spots for photography near Skuks and LS. Obviously I'll try Lake panic ( even though I have never been there in 32 years of going to the park!) and sunset dam....but if there is somewhere that you know of, I would really appreciate it.
This time I'll have my yellow ribbon showing proudly and lookout for some of you when I'm there.
Everytime I go to the park I get so excited that I feel like a child again....my poor SO she just has to deal with it! :k
Cheers

HI Reynhardt, I presume you are meaning nice view sites?
then apart from Lake Panic which you mention, there is also the Mathekenyane which is on the H1-1 towards the H3, it gives one a beautiful view and shows the sheer size of the park with views into the distance.
Otherwise Sunset Dam,always something interesting to see there, Mhlondozi picnic site and view point another and of course Nkumbe view point up the H10.
I do wish you a wonderful trip. :D

It would help if you say what kind of lens you rented?;)

Hi Elsa, thanks for those suggestions I'll be sure to check them out! DuQues.....yes you're right that is probably important to mention  I rented a canon 100-400mm IS so the reach isn't great but not bad either (the best I've had so far in the park)....I was there in March and only had a 100mm prime, which gave me limited possibilities. I probably should post some pics of that trip....we had a great time.
Really looking forward to go hunt some cheetah on the S28 and have always loved the H10.
Have a nice day!
